The sun is shining for us on our May Half term!!☀️
This can only mean one thing…LOTS AND LOTS of water play activities! 💦 💧🔫
P.S when telling them to say water guns for our group photo they all decided to sq**rt their water guns at me🔫🤣

MINIBEASTS!!!🐛🐞 🐜 🦋🕷️🐝
Over the past few weeks we have done a child lead topic on mini beasts. We started with a simple story which all the children thoroughly enjoyed and they engaged in so well and it carried us on to do a topic about them!☺️
The children loved the following;
• Bug hunts in the garden and on our outings
• Painting with mini beast stamps!🎨
• Getting creative and making ladybirds out of paper plates!🐞
• Baking session, making snail biscuits from scratch and talking about the ingredients and measurements we used. We then decorated the snails shells with icing and sprinkles!🐌
• Mini-beasts colour matching!
• Symmetrical butterfly painting, looking at patterns and symmetry!🦋
• Number caterpillars, recognising and matching numbers!🐛

Friday+Sunshine= Park and Ice cream! 🛝☀️🍦

Easter Holidays 2026!🐣
We have had lots of fun celebrating Easter and making the most of the sunshine!☀️
We have enjoyed;

•Making Easter nest cakes
•Going out on adventures and to the park🛝
•Garden play!💦

What a busy start to 2026!
The children have enjoyed our mathematics area, matching numeral to quantity and exploring our coloured construction blocks to match our number block cards! 🔢
Some of our children have enjoyed working as a team to complete puzzles!🧩
We have all enjoyed the waterplay area! The children have enjoyed developing their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills through this play and have enjoyed exploring concepts of capacity(full/empty). 💦 💧
Our older children have participated in a “Paint what you see” activity. They each had a rainbow object in front of them and had the opportunity to paint what they see. This activity provided opportunities for our children to develop physical abilities such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and visual perception. It also allowed our children to transform sights and ideas into a visual form!🌈🎨
We have enjoyed messy play with shaving foam! Most of the children enjoyed getting themselves messy, talking about the texture and using their imagination to make ice creams!🍦
The den has been a BIG hit with all our children of various ages! They have used various objects such as phones, torches, binoculars to use alongside their play and become imaginative and create narratives such as “going on a bear hunt” 🐻 📞 🔦

Yesterday we went on an outing to soft play! We had lots of fun, climbing, running, jumping and going down all the big slides!!😁🛝

On the 20th January it was Penguin Awareness Day!🐧 This week with the children we have celebrated this by;
-Making penguin cupcakes 🐧🧁
-Cutting out shapes and sticking them down to make our own 2D penguin!
-Penguins in ice and pushing them down the slide and exploring and discussing how cold the ice is and the environment in which penguins live in!🧊
-Reading the penguin story ‘and tango makes three’

We have all had an exciting and fun festive month being busy doing lots of Christmas activities!!!🎅🎄

• Christmas geli baff and snow messy play❄️
• Decorating our Christmas tree🎄
• Making Christmas cards ⛄️
• Making Christmas tree decorations🎄
• Hot chocolate and film afternoon🍿
• Making sausage rolls! (Yummy)
• Making hot chocolate stirrers with our older children and making chocolate Christmas shaped lollies with our younger ones!🍫
• Christmas afternoon tea!🫖
• Making reindeer food!
• Christmas play dough and shapes!
• Making malted milk gingerbread houses with our older children and decorating cakes with Christmas sprinkles with our younger children!
