Neil Booth, Safety Manager for Edinburgh Trams, is one of the first to achieve the NEBOSH National Certificate in Protecting Enhanced Duty Premises and Events from Terrorism.
Working closely with other transport providers and the city’s emergency services, Neil helps ensure the safety of passengers and staff. He says the qualification has helped him build a deeper understanding of the security requirements organisations across Edinburgh will need to meet in the future. Exciting news! NEBOSH is continuing its support for the SOWSHE-A women's personal protective equipment project.
Through our Social Purpose Programme, we funded SOWSHE-A's research into women's PPE and are continuing our support for phase two of the project which will build on earlier women’s PPE research to combine field evidence, PPE testing and stakeholder engagement, informing practical interventions, advocacy and guidance focused on reducing heat related risks and strengthening the adoption of safer, more inclusive standards.
Together, NEBOSH and SOWSHE-A are on a mission to address occupational heat stress, through inclusive PPE, among women working in non-climate controlled environments across Africa.
