For years, Discovery Schools Academies Trust has been investing in digital innovation, equipping colleagues with the skills, confidence and tools to enhance teaching and learning across our community of schools.

This August marks the next exciting chapter.

We're launching the second cohort of our Digital Champions Programme, co-designed with Primary Goal and supported by our first dedicated Digital Champion Lead.

Building on the success of our first cohort, which focused on colleagues in our primary schools, this new programme will bring together almost 40 educators from our secondary and specialist settings to explore how technology can remove barriers, personalise learning and create even more inclusive classrooms.

This isn't about replacing great teaching.

It's about building on years of innovation and empowering even more colleagues to use technology in ways that improve outcomes for children and prepare them for the world they'll grow up in.

We'll be sharing more over the coming weeks about the programme, the people involved and how this collaborative approach is helping shape the future of education across Discovery.

🏗️ Exciting improvements are coming to Mini Oaks at Farndon Fields Primary School!

Families will soon benefit from an even bigger and better pre-school following a Government funding award of almost £150,000.

The improvements include:
🌿 Enhanced outdoor learning spaces
🎨 Refurbished facilities
🔒 Improved security
👧 Increased capacity from 26 to 32 places
🕢 Extended opening hours (7.30am-6pm, 51 weeks a year)

The upgraded setting will welcome children from September, providing an even better place to learn, play and grow.

No two days are ever the same in Wraparound Care – and that's exactly why Kyle loves his role.

From planning exciting activities and supporting children through play, to helping families by providing fun, engaging experiences outside the school day, every day brings something new.

“What I enjoy most about my role is the variety that each day brings – whether that be using exciting games and equipment, maintaining stock for the food menu we offer, or simply playing a classic board game with the children,” said Kyle, who joined Discovery trust in 2021 as a Sports Coach, and has been a site leader at multiple locations for Discovery Holiday Camps.

“There is a strong sense of collaboration and colleagues are always welcoming and supportive across all departments of the Trust.”
