Apparently, children are reaching peak boredom by 11.41am during the school holidays. 😂

And perhaps that isn’t something we need to fix.

There can be so much pressure to fill the holidays — days out, activities, entertainment, plans. But children don’t need us to occupy every moment.

Sometimes they just need time.

Time alongside us.
Time to potter.
Time to complain that they’re bored.
And eventually… time to work out what to do with that boredom themselves.

Because creativity often begins in the space where nothing has been planned for them.

Let them be bored. Childhood doesn’t need an itinerary.

💚 Residents are invited to the first Charnwood Community Health and Wellbeing event on Tuesday, 8 September 2026. 📅

📍 The free event is being held at the Charnwood Borough Council offices in Southfield Road, Loughborough, between 2pm and 6pm. 🕑

🤝 It will bring together a range of organisations offering advice, information and support in one place.

If you have any school uniform, shoes, coats or wellies that you wish to donate ahead of Saturday then please drop into The Arc on Friday 14th August between 9am & 3.30pm* 🙂

All donations will then be available on Saturday 15th August at our Summer Fun Day for people to take what they need ❤️

Alternatively, please bring it early on during our Summer Fun Day. The event is running 12-3, so within the first hour would be ideal 🙂
