Imagine dropping your baby off at nursery in the morning… and picking them up after a day at the zoo! 🥹🦒

For some of our littlest friends at Charnwood Nursery & Preschool - Rothley, this may have been their very first time seeing a giraffe, watching the monkeys or pointing excitedly at animals they’ve only ever seen in their books.

Tiny faces taking in a VERY big world.

Because even when they’re still little, their days can be full of adventure, new experiences and those all-important firsts.

Just a completely normal day at nursery… apparently.

And if ONE nursery festival wasn’t enough… apparently we’re in our festival era now 🎪

Just the week after CharnWOODSTOCK, Charnwood Nursery & Preschool Rothley decided it was their turn and held their very own festival… welcome to Ro'Chella 2026.

We had water play (the Nest absolutely took one for the team with that one), facegems, a bouncy castle, hair chalking, a homemade lemonade stand courtesy of Kimmy 🍋, friendship bracelet making with Stef and Hannah, candyfloss with the Minis and Izzy working her magic on the face paints.

And because obviously that wasn’t quite enough for one day… Mickey Mouse popped in too.

Just a completely normal week at nursery really.

Days like these are SO much more than just a bit of fun too. They’re about making memories, giving children new experiences, bringing everyone together and creating those little moments they’ll be talking about long after the face paint has washed off.

CharnWOODSTOCK one weekend, Rochelle the next… we fear we may have created a standard so very high for summer fun!

When your favourite dinner in the whole world is a chippy tea... and it's your birthday... ..you get a chippy tea with all your friends, of course.

Happy 4th Birthday, Jude! 🥳

One of the things we love most is getting to know every single child for exactly who they are. The little things, the big things, their favourite games, their biggest laughs... and apparently, their ultimate birthday meal.

Some children dream of birthday cake. Jude? He had one request...

Another day, another group of our children popping over to their personal soft play.

Last week, our Charnwood Nursery & Preschool - Rothley children took a little trip over to The Hub for a morning of climbing, balancing, sliding, exploring and putting those all-important physical development skills to work.

And because a trip to The Hub wouldn’t be complete without getting involved in the fun, they also joined one of Coco’s classes! 🕺

Behind all the climbing, dancing and VERY serious soft play business, there’s so much happening too. Building confidence in new environments, developing coordination and balance, following instructions, joining in as a group, taking turns and, of course, burning off approximately 728392 units of toddler energy.

One of the things we love most is being able to give our children experiences outside of their usual nursery day, while still making every bit of it an opportunity to learn, develop and grow.

Although if you asked them what they learnt…
Probably “the big slide is the best one.”

🍕👩‍🍳 The Cooking Extravaganza! 🍓

Week 2 of our Summer Bucket List was all about becoming little chefs... and what a feast it was!

Our Preschool children took on the important job of making delicious homemade pizzas for all of their peers, carefully choosing toppings, spreading sauce and showing off their amazing independence along the way.

Then the children of our minis stepped up to dessert duty, creating the freshest, tastiest fruit salad to finish off the meal.

There was plenty of chopping, mixing, sharing and teamwork, with lots of proud smiles seeing everyone enjoy the food they'd made together.

Who knew our future chefs were already in the making? 👩‍🍳

🎾 Centre Court was looking a little... smaller this week. 🤏

With Wimbledon in full swing, our little athletes at Charnwood Nursery & Preschool - Rothley couldn't resist hosting a tournament of their very own!

Bringing the world around them into nursery helps children make sense of what's happening beyond our four walls, and what better way to do it than by getting involved themselves? From serving up smiles to cheering on their friends, every rally was packed with learning.

Mini Wimbledon wasn't just lots of fun either... it helped develop hand-eye coordination, balance, core strength, turn-taking, concentration and teamwork, all while encouraging children to stay active and build confidence through play.

Safe to say, we've got a few future champions in the making... 🏆

Imagine dropping your baby off at nursery in the morning... and before you've even had your second coffee, they're off on a little adventure with their best friends. 🥹💚

Last week, our tiniest explorers from Charnwood Nursery & Preschool – Rothley headed off to the local park for a morning outdoors.

Because childhood was never meant to happen within the same four walls.

Every trip out is an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen growing bodies, develop balance, coordination and core strength, discover new sights and sounds, and simply experience the joy of being outside. The swings, the fresh air, the birds overhead, the breeze through the trees... it's all part of learning.

These little outings might seem simple, but they're often the moments that become the biggest memories. The kind of childhood we'd choose for our own children every single time.

Sometimes the best part of the day isn't an expensive day out or a screen... it's a trip to the park with your favourite peoples.

Because those really are life's teeny tiny luxuries. 💚

🎓 Class of 2026 did us proud. 💚

What a truly lovely afternoon celebrating the amazing children graduating from Charnwood Nursery & Preschool - Rothley. Seeing our graduates walk across the stage with the biggest smiles, collecting their certificates while their families cheered them on, is a moment we’ll never get bored of.

Over the years we’ve watched these little people grow in confidence (some from 12 weeks old 🥹) build incredible friendships, overcome challenges, discover what they love and become kind, capable little learners. It’s been such a privilege to be part of their story.

To all of our wonderful families, thank you for choosing us to share these precious early years. We know how quickly the time flies, and we’re so grateful we got to be part of so many special memories.

To our graduates… this may be the end of your preschool chapter, but it’s only the beginning of everything that’s still to come. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you, and we know you’ll go on to do amazing things.
