We have been on an Autumnal walk this morning where we collected lots of natural autumn resources 🪵🍂🍁We have now put these into our activity for tomorrow for the children to enjoy engaging with where they can practice their counting skills as they find the missing acorns hiding beneath the leaves!

CALM CORNER inspired by our much loved book ‘The Colour Monster’ a book in which we find very helpful and useful when supporting children with their emotional development. 💛💙❤️🖤💚🩷

This area will be a space where children can sit calmly reading books and talking about how they feel. We will also use these tools in our small communication groups and extend on emotions in daily activities that we have out. We have a mixture of different resources available in our calm corner such as books, puppets, flash cards, sensory scarfs and the mirrors too which allows the children to express their emotions whichever way they wish and feel comfortable.

Autumn tuff trays inspired by one of our new books ‘The Leaf Thief’ 🐿️🍁 - Set up by Jess.

We are so excited to welcome all of our children back to preschool next Monday and see them explore this tuff tray which supports their commutation and language through using their five senses to engage in conversation together about what they can see, feel, taste, smell and hear 👀✋🏼👄👃🏼👂🏼Engaging in group play and conversations also builds on their personal, social and emotional development too!

We can also engage in conversation about the new upcoming season of Autumn and how our environment changes as Autumn happens and to extend on this we will also be going out on nature walks/scavenger hunts so the children can make their own observations of what is changing outdoors and collect own resources to add into their play!🍁🍂🪵

Staff will be using their teaching techniques to challenge play further supporting children’s current next steps!

Ice is added for the children to explore the textures, build on knowledge of colour mixing and create extension for vocabulary and children own experiences. 🍄

Communication and Language, Sharing and taking turns, talking about their own experience’s and building on what the children already know and can do! 🍄
Here at LFE Lilliput our children learn in a safe and stimulating environment that is created by listening to our children’s voices and using their interest.
With this staff set up the garden and observe how the children use the environment as the third teacher. . Purposeful play opportunities that give the staff plenty of first hand knowledge of what their children can do! .
