MAINTENANCE PERSON REQUIRED

Wolfdale School is an Independent Specialist School with multiple sites in Leicestershire. Our provision is for young people with an Education Health and Care Plan and those with a diagnosis including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, and Social Emotional Mental Health.

We are a growing school seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, practical maintenance person.

Permanent, part time or full time role – flexible hours.
Salary dependent on experience.

The role will entail the Supporting with the general maintenance and upkeep of the school. Experience of working within a school environment is not essential, as full support and training where required, will be given. This role would suit someone that has knowledge of DIY and has general all round experience of maintenance work.

You will be:
• Able to complete day to day maintenance, repair jobs and decoration
• Maintenance across sites during and outside of term time
• Available to carry out any repairs if / when required
• Be able to evidence good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload
• Responsible for completing maintenance logs
• Monitoring the school site and buildings, identifying remedial work, undertaking minor repairs, maintenance and decoration of buildings, internal fixtures and fittings, and furniture etc.
• Able to undertake porterage and handyperson duties, including moving goods and furniture, minor repairs to property, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
• Undertaking outside duties, for example clearance of drains and gullies, general tidying, disposal of rubbish, snow clearance, etc.
• Able to undertake all maintenance work in line with Health and Safety regulations with due regard to personal, staff and student Health and Safety
• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Overseeing and liaising with contractors when larger repair works are required
• Able to provide evidence of a wide skill set in regards to carrying out repairs and general maintenance works

REQUIREMENTS:
• Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance
• UK driving license
• Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to check delivery notes, measurements etc
• Ability to regularly handle / carry items
• Willing to drive their own vehicle to travel between sites / merchants (mileage will be paid)
• Works will be undertaken during term time and also through the school holidays
