👖 Friday 18th September – Jeans for Genes Day
Children are invited to wear jeans for the day and support this important charity.

If you would like to make a donation for Jeans for Genes, please do so via Arbor. Every contribution, however small, is greatly appreciated and helps support children living with genetic conditions.

☕ Thursday 25th September – Macmillan Coffee Morning
We will be holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning and would love for families to join us in supporting Macmillan Cancer Support.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I hope that you had a great summer. I am delighted to see such a positive start to the new term at Stokes Wood.
Whilst the Headteacher of Stokes Wood remains on a leave of absence, the Governing Board, in consultation with the Local Authority, has acted in the best interests of the school to ensure stability and continuity in its leadership. As an interim measure, Jason Smith has been appointed as Consultative Headteacher.
Jason brings with him a wealth of experience in education and school leadership. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an excellent track record of improving schools and a strong commitment to ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education, while fostering a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school culture. His passion for working collaboratively with staff, pupils, parents and the wider community makes him an excellent fit for Stokes Wood Primary School.
As Consultative Headteacher, Jason will work closely with the school's leadership team, staff and governors to support the continued development of Stokes Wood Primary School. He is committed to building on the many strengths of our school while helping to shape an exciting vision for the future.
Jason is particularly looking forward to getting to know our pupils and their families and believes that strong partnerships between home and school are key to children's success. Over the coming weeks, there will be opportunities for parents and carers to meet him and hear more about his aspirations for the school.
Please join me in giving Jason a very warm welcome to the Stokes Wood Primary School community. We are excited about the experience, expertise and leadership he brings and look forward to working together to ensure the best outcomes for all our children.

We will be having a non-school uniform day on Friday 10th July. Children are invited to dress in the favourite summer clothes to celebrate the end of the summer term.

We can't wait to celebrate to start of summer with you all.

Thank You & A Look Ahead to Next Week

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents and carers for your incredible support during last week’s extreme heat. Your understanding and cooperation truly made a difference.

We are so proud of how our children conducted themselves throughout such challenging conditions - they showed resilience, compassion and a fantastic attitude. Our staff were equally amazing, going above and beyond to ensure everyone stayed safe, calm and supported. It really was a whole-school effort 💙💙

Looking ahead to next week, as temperatures return to more typical levels, we will be returning to normal school routines although we have Inset day on Monday ( no children in school)
✅ Children should wear full school uniform (no own clothes, Crocs, or handheld fans)
✅ Please continue to send children with a named water bottle and sun hat
✅ Apply sun cream before school where needed
✅ School will finish at the usual time of 3:20pm (no early pick-ups)

Thank you again for your ongoing support - it means so much to us all. We hope you’ve had a restful weekend and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to more comfortable temperatures and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

Y6 have partied, had a burger dinner a visit from the ice cream van and thrashed the teachers at football.

We would like to inform you that from the new academic year, the school will be moving to a new payment and booking system called Arbor.
Through Arbor, you will be able to:
-Book and pay for your child’s school meals
-Pay for school trips and visits
-Purchase school uniform
-Manage other school payments in one place
As we prepare for this transition, it is important that all outstanding balances on the current SCOPAY system are cleared before the end of the academic year and all contact details are up to date.
If your SCOPAY account is in credit, you can choose to have the balance refunded or transferred to your new Arbor account. Please contact the school office if you would like to discuss these options.
Please note that from September, any payments made into SCOPAY will be refunded and will then need to be paid into your Arbor account instead.
You will receive a welcome email from Arbor containing your login details and instructions for setting up your account.
If you experience any difficulties logging in or require assistance accessing your account, please visit the school office and a member of staff will be happy to help.
