📢 Important Social Media Update 📢
At Stokes Wood, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils is always our top priority. In line with new online safety guidance and best practice, we will be moving to a 'faceless' approach across our social media platforms.
This means that while we will continue to share and celebrate the incredible achievements, experiences and learning taking place in our school, images posted will no longer clearly show children’s faces.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils and remain committed to showcasing their successes, creativity and hard work. You will still see all of the wonderful things happening in our school community, just in a way that better protects children’s privacy and keeps them safe online.
Thank you for your continued support as we make this important change. 😊

Free School Meals are changing. If you currently get FSM for your child then you must reapply to check that you are still eligable, if you don't reapply then you may loose access to FSM from the new academic year and your will need to pay for your childs school dinners.
If you don't currently qualify for FSM, you may now fall under the new parameters and will be able to access these from 01st September 2026.
Please see the instructions from the council below and a link to the website to apply
Dear Parent / Carer,
Urgent Action Required: Free School Meals is changing – check your eligibility from today!
From Monday 1 June 2026, the government is changing the free school meals system. More families than ever before will now qualify for free school lunches.
Because the rules are changing, all existing transitional protections are ending. This means that every family must be re-checked before the new school year starts. If you do not complete this check, your child’s free school meals may stop in September.
From Monday 1 June 2026, children in households in receipt of universal credit, with annual household earnings above £7,400 will be entitled to 'expanded' free school meals.
If your child was previously refused free school meals, you can apply again from Monday 1 June 2026.
Applications are accepted from Monday 1 June 2026 and children who qualify under this expanded eligibility will receive free school meals only, from Tuesday 1 September 2026.

Some of our wonderful gardening club members will be selling gardening items at the local market in June, and every penny raised will be donated to our local food bank to help families in need. If you have any spare plants or seeds you would be happy to donate, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.
Please get in touch or drop donations off at the office. Thank you for helping us grow something good for our community!

We are delighted to share how incredibly proud we are of all our Year 6 pupils for completing their SATs today.
It has been a pleasure to witness their resilience this week and their determination to do the very best they can be, showing our CARE values at every turn. The children have approached each day with maturity, positivity and perseverance, and they should all feel extremely proud of themselves.
We would also like to thank you for your continued support and encouragement throughout the week. Your partnership has helped the children feel confident and prepared.
Now it is time for the children to relax, celebrate their hard work and enjoy the exciting weeks ahead as they continue making special memories in their final term at primary school.
Well done, Year 6!
