Grovian Voices Goes Global!

We’re delighted to celebrate the continued success of the Grovian Voices podcast, which has now reached 5,840+ downloads across 51 countries and 477 cities worldwide!

Our first podcast guest, Old Grovian Roger Davy (47-57), recently shared this wonderful photograph from around 1954.

Roger recalls:

“A photo from c.1954, taken near the few steps by the side of the Greenwood building, that leads up to the Art block. It must have been a Sunday as we are wearing our suits and white shirts and black ties. Those were the days!”

Roger and fellow Old Grovian Hugh Knowles (49–54) remain great friends and are regular attendees at the Old Grovian Termly Coffee Morning (although they’ve switched sides in a more recent photo!).

In our most popular episode, Roger shares fond memories of his school days and reveals the story behind that ladder…

Curious? Listen now and find out!

Grovian Voices is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and via the school website: https://woodhousegrove.co.uk/old-grovians/podcast-grovian-voices/

This immaculate 7" vinyl of Woodhouse Grove School Prize Day from the 1960s has just landed with us. Featuring the school song Χαίρετε and the Prize Day Hymn O. Holy Father, it couldn't have arrived at a more fitting time with Prize Day taking place on 27 June.

A huge thank you to a kind record collector from Petts Wood, Bromley, who took the time to send us this wonderful piece of Grove heritage.

Now we're curious...which Old Grovian did this record once belong to?

They say a picture tells a thousand stories…

OG Phil Schofield (43–50), proudly wearing his Old Grovian Rugby Jersey, recently emailed the OGA to share this wonderful message:

Shared with permission from Phil.
