Session 1 of our Rollerdance Fundamentals Course was gorgeous last night! π₯°ππΌ
This week we started off by discussing roller dance styles, rink history and culture. We also covered connecting to music, finding a beat and counting steps π΅
We worked on various stepping skills, weight transfer and balance, ending with learning the foundations of strut walking and downtown!π
These sessions are aimed at those who can already skate (skate forwards, roll backwards, stop and stand still on the spot), but are ready to start learning moves and putting them to music. Each week we're covering various foundational moves such as downtown, dribbles and crab walk, so that you feel more confident joining other rollerdance sessions such as our regular Community Roller Dance classes starting at the end of the month. π
If you'd like to join us for the rest of the course, we still have some space free on the 3 sessions block booking on the website!
If booking, it's advised to attend all 3 of the next sessions going forward so as to maximise the content on the course. Singular session bookings unavailable.
