Our Year 4 pupils had a fantastic day in York as part of our Viking topic! 🛡️⚔️

At JORVIK, we travelled back in time and enjoyed the immersive ride through Viking-age York, discovering what life was like over 1,000 years ago. It was an unforgettable experience!

We also visited the DIG, where the children became archaeologists for the day—excavating artefacts and learning how we uncover the past. 🏺

A brilliant day filled with hands-on learning, excitement, and curiosity. Well done, Year 4!

🌍 Year 1 Geography Day 🌍

What a fantastic day of learning and creativity! Today, we explored the vibrant culture of Kenya 🇰🇪. The children had so much fun discovering new traditions, music, and art.

We got hands-on by making our very own Djembe drums and created some beautiful Kenyan-inspired artwork. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and imagination throughout the day!

Well done, Year 1! 👏

A huge well done to our amazing Year 6 netball players who represented the school at the Bee Netball competition at Allerton High last night! 🏐🐝

You all showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event, and we are incredibly proud of your efforts. It was great to see your skills in action and your positive attitude on and off the court.

Thank you for being such wonderful ambassadors for our school—keep up the brilliant work! 💛👏

Year 2 had a wonderful time celebrating Geography Day with a focus on China! 🌏

We explored what a typical school day is like, giving us a real insight into daily life for students in China. The children also tried their hand at calligraphy, discovering the patience and precision needed to create such beautiful characters.

Our celebrations continued as we learned about Lunar New Year traditions. We made colourful lanterns, explored their meanings, and even practised using chopsticks—which was definitely trickier than it looks!

A fantastic day full of learning, creativity, and cultural discovery! 🎎✨

Reception class had a lovely time on their second trip to church as a class! ⛪✨

The children met Reverend John at our local church, Holy Trinity, where he spoke to them in greater detail about the events in the Easter Story. The children enjoyed a short video and had lots of thoughtful questions to ask, including “Why do we call Good Friday ‘Good’?”

John then showed the children the Last Supper scene. The children did a fantastic job spotting which character was Jesus and who they thought might be Judas. They were able to identify Judas by noticing the small bag of money he was carrying, which he had accepted in exchange for giving Jesus’s name to the soldiers.

Finally, John showed the children the beautiful stained-glass windows, explaining that they are not only works of art but also tell the Easter story.

The children were very excited to leave with their own palm crosses to take home with them! 🌿😊
