The entrance fee is 50p per adult, children are free.

Our Vocational learners had a fantastic experience at the Manchester Airport Viewing Point before the half term break. It was a visit to link their interests with a hands‑on opportunity to connect with career prospects, life skills, and personal interests with the real world.

From observing ground crew operations to seeing hospitality and customer‑service roles in action, learners were able to link what they study in class to the wide range of jobs that keep an international airport running.

They also practiced key life skills such as travel awareness, communication, money management, and independent decision‑making while navigating the café and visitor areas.

Most importantly, the trip helped learners explore what genuinely interests them — whether that’s aviation, engineering, customer service, or simply understanding how large workplaces operate.

We’re incredibly proud of how engaged and curious they were throughout the day. Experiences like this help our learners build confidence, broaden their horizons, and take meaningful steps toward their future pathways.

A fantastic Cultural Diversity Day celebrated at school at the end of last half term!

Staff and students were invited to wear their own clothes and, if they wished, something that represents their heritage.

Our celebrations included a Breakfast Club spread inspired by different countries, with fresh fruit (yes, mango included), and flamenco music to set the mood along with a country‑flag‑breakfast matching game. An informative cultured form time followed, along with an Aborigine inspired Art club, a Film Club and Carnival Sports on the MUGA.

Students have all been invited to express their culture through a piece of art or creative writing.

The Food Tech BTEC students went on a visit to Temple Newsam Farm on Monday 18th May to find out about the different animals on the farm and how they are looked after.

We met some beautiful baby animals and enjoyed a tour from the Temple Newsam staff who let us get up close to some of their new arrivals.

The students learnt about cows and their digestion as well as the many breeds of sheep and how they look after their lambs.

The college crew have really settled into the provision and have been busy making masks! They used paints and plasticine to create a range of interesting textures and designs.

Last month, our Year 8 Creative Project group enjoyed an exciting visit to Elementary Technology

They learned different roles within a creative technology workplace and explored the ‘experience centre’, filled with interactive games, whiteboards, and even podcasting equipment – which was a big hit!

As you can see, the students had a great time.

Last week our brilliant L2B students took part in a hands‑on heart dissection as part of their science learning. They explored the structure of the heart up close, identified key features such as the ventricles, atria, and major blood vessels, and deepened their understanding of how this incredible organ keeps us alive.

Our students showed fantastic curiosity, teamwork, and resilience throughout the session. It was amazing to see them making real‑world connections to their classroom learning.
