🍯🧸 A little baking for our teddy bears! 🧸🍯

Our Farsley toddlers have been busy in the kitchen, making some delicious honey flapjacks for their teddy bears! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Little hands helped to transport, pour, mix and squeeze the ingredients as they worked through each step of the recipe. We loved hearing the children using new words such as “mix”, “pour”, “more” and “squeeze” along the way! 💬✨

Baking is such a lovely way to combine learning, language, sensory exploration and independence - all while having lots of fun!

We can't wait to see whether our teddy bears will share… and, of course, to have a little taste ourselves! 😋🍯

🌻🎨 Sunflower Observational Art! 🎨🌻

Our sunflowers have been growing beautifully, so we took the opportunity to get up close and explore some fully bloomed sunflowers before creating our very own observational artwork! 🌻💛

The children carefully looked at the colours, textures, shapes and tiny details of the flowers before using their paintbrushes to capture what they could see. 🎨✨

This type of activity encourages children to slow down, focus and really observe the world around them. It also helps to develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor control as they carefully move the paintbrush from the palette to the paper. 🖌️

A lovely combination of creativity, nature and learning and some beautiful artwork to show for it! 🌿🌻

Our Farsley Pre-Schoolers have marked the end of an era with a fun-filled festival party! 🎪💃🕺

There was plenty of dancing, laughter, happy memories, reminiscing and, of course, some very yummy cake! 🍰🥳

As we get ready to say goodbye to our wonderful Pre-Schoolers and watch them take their next big step into primary school, we couldn't be prouder of how much they have grown, learned and achieved during their time with us. 💛

We will miss their smiles, laughter and adventurous spirits, but we're so excited to see all the amazing things they will accomplish on their next adventure! 🚀📚

🌿🍃 Exploring Nature with Hapa Zome! 🌼

Our Farsley toddlers have been busy in the garden exploring the plants around them and discovering how they can be used in a very special way! 💚

We introduced the children to Hapa Zome, a Japanese technique which means “leaf dyeing”. Using leaves, flowers and other natural materials, the children experimented with pressing and tapping the plants onto fabric to see what colours and patterns they could create. 🌸🍃

It was a wonderful hands-on experience, encouraging the children to explore nature, creativity, cause and effect and sensory learning – all while making their own beautiful natural prints! 🎨🌿

Our babies have been having lots of fun developing their gross motor skills this week by learning to kick a ball! ⚽💙

We've been talking all about football, and the children loved discovering that their kicks could make colourful marks on the paper. It was wonderful to watch them explore cause and effect while building their coordination, balance and confidence through play.

Learning through movement is such an exciting part of early development, and our little ones certainly enjoyed every kick, giggle and colourful masterpiece! 🎨✨

🫐🍃 Berry Busy in the Mud Kitchen! 🍃🫐

Our curious toddlers have been exploring the outdoors and recently spotted some blackberries growing in our garden! 🌿

After carefully washing a few and having a taste, we decided to continue the adventure by adding the blackberries to our mud kitchen. The children loved using mashers to squash the berries into a rich purple juice before mixing it with water, leaves and other natural treasures to create delicious pretend soups and cups of tea! 🍵🥣

Outdoor play like this encourages children to explore the natural world, develop their fine motor skills, spark their imaginations and engage all of their senses. It also provides wonderful opportunities to talk about where food comes from, seasonal changes and how we can safely enjoy nature together. 💚

What a fantastic way to turn a simple discovery into a fun-filled learning experience!

💜🚀 The Smeds and the Smoos Have Landed at Farsley Nursery! 🚀💚

Our toddlers have been enjoying the wonderful story The Smeds and the Smoos this week, bringing the colourful characters to life through creative play! 📚✨

Using playdough, the children created their own Smeds and Smoos before experimenting with colour mixing to make the story's adorable purple baby. 💜

As they squished, rolled and blended the different coloured dough, the children discovered how two colours can combine to create something completely new. It was a fantastic hands-on activity that encouraged creativity, strengthened fine motor skills, and introduced early science and art concepts through play. 🎨🌟

Story-inspired activities like these help children develop a love of books while sparking their imaginations and encouraging them to explore, create and learn in fun, meaningful ways. We can't wait to see where our next story adventure takes us! 🚀📖
