Today we practised our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination using tweezers and bumblebee pom-poms! π
The children worked hard to squeeze the tweezers to pick up the bees and carefully transport them into the egg cartons. This fun activity helped to strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers, which are important for developing early writing skills, while also encouraging concentration and coordination.
The children loved the challenge and were so proud of their achievements! π

As we welcome in June and celebrate the bees this week, the children decided to create their very own bees using playdough ππ
We have been talking about why bees are so important to our world and how they help flowers, plants and food to grow through pollination. Celebrating bees helps children learn about caring for nature and understanding the important role even the smallest creatures play in our environment πΌπ
The children rolled, squashed and shaped the playdough to design their bees while developing fine motor skills, creativity and imagination through hands-on play β¨

The Farsley babies have been exploring a wonderful Monkey Puzzle inspired jungle tuff tray ππΏ
The babies enjoyed discovering lots of different sensory elements while naming their favourite animals from the story. From soft textures to exciting jungle animals, the activity encouraged curiosity, communication and imaginative play as the children brought the story to life together πβ¨
Tuff trays are a fantastic way to support early learning as they create open-ended opportunities for children to explore, investigate and learn through hands-on play. Activities like this help to develop language skills, sensory awareness, concentration and creativity while encouraging children to follow their own interests and ideas π

The babies have been busy exploring sand play, transporting sand between containers using their hands and scoops.
Something as simple as introducing another large container creates wonderful opportunities for schematic play, encouraging the children to move, transfer and explore the sand in different ways. These experiences help to support problem solving, coordination, concentration and curiosity as the babies learn through play and discovery.

Our Valley View toddlers have been having so much fun learning all about colours through science πβ¨
The children took part in a colourful fizzing experiment using pipettes and food colouring, carefully squeezing and mixing the colours while watching them fizz, bubble, and come to life before their eyes! π«§π¨
Activities like this are a fantastic way to support early scientific thinking, develop fine motor skills, and encourage curiosity and exploration through hands-on learning. The toddlers loved observing the reactions, experimenting with colour mixing, and talking about the different colours they could see πππ
