๐ฅณ It's the moment you've all been waiting for - the 2026 line-up of celebrities is here! Whose episode do you think sounds most exciting?
Family History Services I am offering a chance for you to find out about your own family history. In most cases I can take your tree back at least 4 generations.
I will research your family tree and provide you with a tangible record of your ancestry in book form into which I can also add any pictures you may have. I also provide a service for those that have started their own trees and are unable to continue. If you have decided to do your own Family Tree but find you cannot go any further, or just want a helping hand. Let me know your enquiry and I will get back to you with an estimate.

๐ตBlue Monday!
โ
This week we're not looking at any one blue plaque, but inviting you to become part of the panel that decides what blue plaque nominations are accepted!
๐ฆWe are looking for new volunteers to join our Heritage and Culture Panel, who meet quarterly on Zoom and discuss which blue plaque nominations Leeds Civic Trust should go ahead with and award a blue plaque to. The panel makes evidence-based decisions that align with our criteria for blue plaques.
๐ซตIf you are interested in local history, this might be the volunteer role for you!
๐๏ธWe are running this volunteering opportunity a bit like a (very simple) job application. Applicants are asked to fill in a google form to tell us why you would be a good fit for the panel. We are grateful for the many wonderful applications we have already recieved. Applications close Monday 16 March.
๐Find out more about the the roles on offer and apply on our website: ๐ https://zurl.co/HK1Yo

Happy 158th Birthday Guiseley Theatre
On Thursday 26th December 1867, Residents of Guiseley came out in their hundreds to witness the formal opening of Guiseley Town Hall, known to many now as our home, Guiseley Theatre.
In 2017 The Tales Told festival celebrated the rich and diverse history of the building, its users and the many different formats the building has taken, from town hall, to fire station, or cinema to hospital! At the opening night of the festival, Codswallop CIC presented Guiseley Theatre a plaque to commemorate the 150 years to fill a plinth on the front of the theatre which has stood empty for many years. The plaque is now up, proudly on display and reads:
