🧮🌈 RECIPE FOR A RAINBOW 🌈🧮

This is a maths-based activity designed to support children’s counting skills, fine motor development, and colour coordination in a fun and engaging way.

Below are the 3 I’s used during planning, in line with the Early Years Framework Statutory Guidance:

• Intent ☑️
To develop fine motor skills
To support number recognition
To introduce counting in meaningful, hands-on ways

• Implementation ☑️
Tweezers are provided to encourage children to pick up and count each block, strengthening hand muscles needed for writing
Fingers are also encouraged as an alternative, supporting dexterity and independence
Wooden numbers are placed on the table to support number recognition and give visual prompts during play
Colour-matched bowls and resources are used to encourage recall and sorting skills

• Impact ☑️
Children were engaged, motivated, and able to explore counting and colour matching at their own pace.
You can try this simple activity at home with your little ones 🤍

Feel free to DM me your results—I’d love to see!
I’m also happy to offer advice or ideas to extend this activity for older children or add extra challenges.

💐🌸SPRING SEASON🌸💐
Spring is known as a time for new beginnings, blossoming plants & it is that first quarter of the year where everyone feels rejuvenated!

A nice way of introducing the children to new beginnings is through animal life cycle’s!
Caterpillars are known as one of the easiest minbeasts life cycle to track & it a fun way to show children step by step how they turn from a tiny little egg into a beautiful butterfly which happens to be my favourite animal🦋✨.

✨These activities were aimed for the age group 3-4 years old.
You can find the 3 I’s for these activities in my highlights!✨

⏰ 🐛 The Catterpillar cycle clock is my personal favourite out of these three! 🐛 ⏰

Try these creative activities at home with your little loves & DM with the results.

I am happy to offer any advisories or ideas for extra challenges of to make it more simple if you wish to cater to a younger or higher age range.

Welcome to my Childminding page where I have turned my passion for early years and my hobby of babysitting into a part time buisness.

A little about me; My name is Alexia, I am the oldest of 7 siblings and it has been said I am naturally a comforter and care provider.
I am currently 19 years old and have been working in the childcare industry for 3 years. I used to counter at a youth club
in harehills called “the Ark” this was a community centre which aimed to support the children and teenagers who were less fortunate and lacked nurturing safe homes. I used to plan activities for the children to participate throughout the day both being physical creative and fun. I catered each of these activities to fit specific ages and groups therefore everyone felt challenged and also able to participate.

In 2021 I started an apprenticeship in the Early years workforce, I studied at 22SLNA for nearly 2 years until I finally achieved my level 3 childcare qualification which shortly followed a promotion to the pre-school room which I spent 7 months in before being promoted again to a team leader role.
Over the past 3 years I have worked with children from the ages 0-5 and I have taken care of approximately 6 groups of children over the years.
It is always a pleasure to take care of the future generation and help build their interest and skills as well as providing a caring environment in which I believe allows children to achieve their full potential.

I have worked with children who have additional SEN and have beeb trained on how to spot these signs and methods of supporting both children parents with managing this.
I am Peaditric First Aid trained and also own a Fire Marshall certificate.

I have decided to start this venture ‘Lexi’s Little Loves’ as I believe children deserve comfort ,care ,stability and someone who understands them through everything they do! I want to provide children and parents with sanctuary aswell as still working full time at my currently nursery academy.

Stay in Touch ~ I will be posting my availability soon followed by requirements and what my service specifically provides! X
