There have been some people commenting about the reason we have books in the skip at school.

We are relaunching our library which has been outdated for sometime.

The books we can’t use anymore due to age, condition or suitability have been sorted into three groups : recycle, donate or keep.

The books in the skip are all books that are no longer suitable for use for various reasons and can’t be donated. We have donated the rest of the books (over 1000) to a charity for second hand books, and will be continuing to do so in September. We have also provided families who need them with books before the summer.

As a school we are never wasteful with resources and a lot of time and effort has gone into sorting these books out so that our pupils have a well stocked and appropriate library.

Edit: also to add the books in boxes near reception are awaiting charity collection so please do not remove.

We want to wish our amazing year 6 pupils good luck as they leave for the next step in their journey.

Happy Retirement Mrs Parker!

After 30 years the fabulous Mrs Parker is leaving Gildersome Primary School!

She has shaped the lives of so many pupils past and present and will be hugely missed by all.

Please join us by saying good luck and goodbye to one of the best!

Yesterday we said goodbye to the amazing Mrs Cribbes-after 26 years.

We'd love to thank her for all her hard work over the years. She is much loved by all and we will miss her loads!

URGENT

A child at our school has had their scooter taken from the scooter park at the top of school.

We would hope that this was done through human error but it may have been stolen.

It is a GOAT scooter.
It is black with turquoise handles and wheels.

The scooter was on school property.

If your child has come home with this scooter accidentally please return it tomorrow.

If anyone sees the scooter around the village please bring it to school.

This summer we're going EXTREME!

Early Years and Rainbow Room had a Fun Day last week. They took park in water play; they bounced on the bouncy castle; decorated delicious biscuit; created some gorgeous summer crafts and even did some face painting!

Visiting Equine Pathways for therapeutic time is an amazing opportunity for the pupils who visit from school. We are so lucky to have access to such an invaluable service in our local area is just amazing. Thank you for having us this year!

We celebrated the end of term with Gildersome Primary School - Official with a little pony dress up followed by apples for the ponies and buns for the children which the teachers had baked. See you next term, enjoy your summer holidays ⛱️
