FARSLEY FESTIVAL 2026!!
We will be hosting a craft tent at this year’s Farsley Festival! Come down, say hi to Julie and Charlie, and get creative with us!
We are bringing plenty of our laser-cut products made from reclaimed wood. You can decorate your own unique piece and take it home with you as a keepsake!
We are also going to be creating a Community Art Project! We want to know: “What is the best thing about Farsley?” We are bringing 200 laser-cut puzzle piece hexagons for you to decorate with your answers. We will take these back, apply them to a wooden board, and donate the finished collaborative project to be displayed in a local indoor community space.
Come and be part of the creative fun, enjoy the other family friendly activities on offer, grab some tasty local food and enjoy the bands!
Find out more about the festival here: https://farsleyfestival.co.uk/
We can’t wait to see you all there and make some amazing art together! ✨

Last week, Julie was out in Keighley delivering a creative wellbeing workshop, for the NHS Bradford Green Therapy Project, and what a brilliant session it turned out to be! Despite the classic British weather trying to dampen our plans (and stopping us from heading to the allotment 🌧️), it certainly didn’t dampen spirits.
Instead, we stayed warm, shared plenty of tea, biscuits and conversation, and got stuck into building and decorating beautiful hexagon planters. Each one was uniquely designed, full of personality, and ready to be used either at home or on the allotment when the sun decides to make a return ☀️
Workshops like these are a great reminder that creativity, connection, and a supportive space can brighten even the greyest of days. The group showed such enthusiasm and care in what they created and the results were absolutely amazing!
We can’t wait to see these planters in bloom 🌱🧩

OUR FOUNDER STORY PART THREE
A growing team, a brand new studio, a hugely expanded workshop catalogue, and... a very exciting addition to the PIECES family!
Swipe through for the final chapter of our story (for now, anyway!). 👉
Since making things official as a CIC in 2024, we haven’t just grown our team, we’ve completely diversified what we do. From our flagship Creative Enterprise Challenges to 90-minute Creative Wellbeing and Mini Enterprise Workshops, we are reaching more young people than ever!
May 2025 brought our biggest milestone yet: launching our double-decker Creative Studio! 🚌 We are so proud to be based at CATCH in Harehills. While this award-winning youth organisation runs incredible free youth sessions, we partner with them to provide free creative workshops every Wednesday night (and during the school holidays!). It gives local young people a calm, supportive space to relax and feel the mental health benefits of getting creative.
It has been an absolute whirlwind. But the most exciting milestone is still to come! Our Founder, Sami, is welcoming a baby boy this month! 💙
While she is stepping back from the workshop floor to soak up the newborn bubble, she definitely isn’t disappearing. Sami will still be steering the ship, guiding our strategy, and planning the next big things for PIECES from behind the scenes! Meanwhile, our incredible team of Creative Coaches will be out there delivering our mission every single day.
So, what’s next? 🚀 We want to work with even more schools, host more workshops at our studio, and partner with more amazing businesses as sponsors to help expand our outreach.
Whether your support is big or small, there are lots of ways that you can get involved! Read our new blog to find out how!

Wednesday creative youth session✅
This evening we were decorating hanging decorations at CATCH Leeds , a relaxing opportunity to get creative👨🏼🎨
We saw some really impressive creations this week, and enjoyed having the time to chat to members and open different conversations. Our Wednesday sessions are all about providing a safe, quiet space for young people to hang out with friends, and focus on their wellbeing through making. We love watching the young people grow in confidence and skill each week💛

OUR FOUNDER STORY PART 2
From resourcing reclaimed wood to our very first workshops. 🪵
Swipe to see how a chance meeting and a shared passion for sustainability and empowering young people changed everything for The PIECES Project! 👉
In Part 2 of our story, we’re looking back at how a conversation about reclaimed materials with Ian from Morley Glass turned into our very first Creative Enterprise Challenge. 🚀
Since that day, Morley Glass has become our Strategic Impact Partner. Their continued belief in our mission is the perfect example of what happens when local businesses invest in the next generation. It is because of forward-thinking support like this that we were able to reach 140 young people in our very first year alone! 💪
Four years on, and we have saved countless wooden boxes and wooden inserts from being sent to landfil. We have also helped over 4,000 young people to learn important employability skills!
A massive thank you to everyone who sees our vision and helps us bridge the gap between education and enterprise.

We had the pleasure of visiting the Year 6 leavers at Co-Op academy Oakwood, who took part in a Creative Welling Workshop. The students made School Leavers Signs, and enjoyed discussing their time in Primary School and what they want to do in the future.🌟
The young people were really enthusiastic about the workshop, and enjoyed spending this time away from regular classes, to give themselves a chance to do something creative. They shared their ideas and feedback with each other by helping each other correct and improve their creations.👨🏼🎨
It was so wonderful to see the range of work going on, and listening to them enjoy their time together before moving schools! We wish all the students leaving Oakwood Academy the best of luck with their move!🍀
Do you work at a school or a youth organisation? Want to transform your enrichment programme?

A sunny session at CATCH!🌅
We couldn’t miss our chance to have a session in the sun this evening at .leeds, so we were making Picture Frames outside🌞
This is an activity we have done before and was another opportunity to develop our creative ideas and make another product we love just as much! Our young members designed some great stuff and had a lovely session👨🏼🎨
We hope this sun stays so we can keep being creative over the summer and grow our ideas. We love being a part of Wednesday youth sessions, and contributing to a safe space for young people in the area to come and do something crafty💛
