Winter Learning
Our Reception children have been busy learning all about Winter.
They have been exploring the story 'One Snowy Night' through role play and small world play. They wrapped up in winter clothes to observe signs of winter outside. There was quite a lot of ice and frost to explore this week!

Our Reception and Key Stage 1 children had an amazing time at Leeds Playhouse today watching a performance of Stickman. A big thankyou to our fabulous FOBS ( Friends of Barwick School) who subsidised the cost of this and the Aladdin pantomime trip for our older children, enabling all of our pupils to enjoy a theatre trip this Christmas.

Wake Up Wednesday Update
Scalping has long been a frustration for fans hoping to bag concert tickets or exclusive toys, but the online world has supercharged this dishonest tactic. Scalpers use bots to buy up stock in seconds, then resell items such as consoles or collectibles at significant mark-ups. For young people, it can be disappointing and harmful to their wallets, wellbeing and worldview.
As this unethical practice becomes more visible, and, worryingly, sometimes glamourised online, it’s important to talk to children about fairness, financial boundaries, and spotting scams. This guide breaks down the tricks of the trade and how to avoid them, helping young consumers stay safe, informed and scam-free.

It also unpacks some of the key online safety risks associated with Fortnite. With in-game purchases, cross-platform communication and regular seasonal updates creating an ‘always on’ experience, it’s vital that trusted adults understand how to help children and young people enjoy the game without being exposed to unnecessary risks.
