🌟 Celebrating Sixth Form Success at Temple Moor Sixth Form 🌟

We’re delighted to share that Temple Moor High School and Sixth Form has been recognised among the top sixth forms in Leeds, ranked 7th overall in recent coverage by the Yorkshire Evening Post, based on Department for Education (DfE) performance data.

This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our fantastic students, alongside the unwavering support from our staff. With 30.8% of students achieving AAB or higher, this is a brilliant achievement and a testament to the high standards we strive for every day.

A huge thank you to Laura Norman from ChromaGB for visiting our school to deliver an inspiring marketing workshop for our Year 12 BTEC Business students.

The session was a fantastic opportunity for students to gain real-world insights and develop key skills in preparation for their Developing a Marketing Campaign exam.

📣 Design Technology Rotary Competition📣

Our Year 12 Design Technology team had a fantastic day at the Design Technology Rotary Competition on Monday, competing against schools from across Leeds and the surrounding areas.

Their challenge was to design and build a bridge capable of holding weight while incorporating a working pulley mechanism — and they rose to the challenge brilliantly!

We are incredibly proud to share that our Year 12 team won 1st place, bringing home the trophy with their outstanding design. Their creativity, engineering skills and teamwork were exceptional.

🌟 Year 13 Apprenticeship Pathways – LinkedIn Masterclass 🌟

Our future apprentices in Year 13 have taken an exciting step forward today with a masterclass on how to create a standout LinkedIn profile. This session helped students learn how to connect with employers, explore career opportunities, and showcase their top skills.

A huge thank‑you to Leonie Husselbee, Marketing Executive at local company Trust Electric Heating, for delivering such an informative and inspiring workshop. From creating an account to building connections with businesses and employers, Leonie shared invaluable insights — including why it’s all about the algorithm!

🎄 Christmas Quiz Fun in the Sixth Form Common Room! 🎄

Today during P3, our Sixth Form students and staff came together for a festive Christmas quiz in the common room – and what a fantastic atmosphere it was! 🎅✨

It was great to see everyone getting into the Christmas spirit, showing off their knowledge, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. The effort and enthusiasm from both students and staff made this event truly special.

Organised by our amazing Sixth Form Charity Fundraising Committee, this event promises an evening of incredible entertainment, all in support of the Alzheimer’s Society!

✨ Congratulations to Lewis Towning-Cooksley! ✨

Back in October, one of our incredible sixth form students, Lewis, was selected to attend a Labour Conference in Liverpool! 🎓

During his four-day experience, Lewis had the opportunity to vote on key policies—including education and even water usage—thanks to being a respected member of Head of Labour for Leeds East (Youth).

This amazing experience gave Lewis a real insight into politics, which will support his future goal of helping young people better understand how politics shapes our world. 🌍
