We are very proud of our recent Ofsted inspection. Judged as Strong in EYFS by Ofsted (May 2026), inspectors commented on how our children get off to a flying start and reported “The early years is a purposeful and happy environment where children feel happy and safe".

Today, a mysterious map that led Year 1 deep into our very own school forest… and what we discovered was truly magical!

As we explored, we found all sorts of magical treasures hidden among the trees – mysterious potions, tiny fairy doors, magical wands, witch and wizard hats, and even sparkling fairy dust!

The children were amazed and full of questions. Who could have left these things in our forest? Where do the fairy doors lead? What are the potions for? And, most importantly…are there fairies and other enchanted creatures hiding nearby?

We can’t wait to follow the clues, investigate our discoveries and see where this magical adventure takes our learning!

This week we celebrated our wonderful Year 2 children as they reached the end of their journey at Lee-on-the-Solent Infant and Nursery School.

Over two special Leavers' Assemblies, we had the opportunity to celebrate with our Year 2 families, reflecting on the many happy memories, achievements and friendships that have been made during their time with us. Then, this morning, our whole school community came together one final time to say goodbye and wish our Year 2 children every success as they prepare for their next adventure.

We are incredibly proud of every single one of them. They have grown into kind, confident, resilient and caring young people, and we know they will continue to shine at junior school and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing families for the support, encouragement and partnership you have shown throughout your children's time with us. It has been a privilege to watch them learn, grow and flourish.

Although today marks the end of their time with us, they will always be part of our school family. Once a member of Lee-on-the-Solent Infant and Nursery School, always a member.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our recent Ofsted success!

Yesterday afternoon, our amazing Friends of Lee-on-the-Solent Infant and Nursery School (FLINS) surprised every child with a visit from the ice cream van. After lunchtime, every child enjoyed a delicious ice cream, making it a very special treat and a fantastic way to celebrate our recent Ofsted inspection.

A huge thank you to FLINS for their generosity, continued support and for organising such a memorable surprise for our school community. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do to enrich the experiences of our children.

Thank you to our children, families, staff, governors and FLINS for helping to make Lee-on-the-Solent Infant and Nursery School such a special place.

We are so proud of our recent Ofsted report, which recognised the wonderful work taking place across our school, including Strong judgements for Early Years and Inclusion. We had a wonderful day at Swanwick Lakes, enjoying pond dipping, meadow sweeping, and exploring the nature reserve.

The children were thrilled to discover toads, water boatmen, beetles, butterflies, grasshoppers, ladybirds, and so much more.

What a fantastic adventure and a day full of exciting discoveries!

Year R are continuing to enjoy their weekly Forest School sessions this term!

The children love exploring the outdoors, developing new skills and learning through hands-on experiences in nature.
