Do you care about the future of the planet?
Enough to act like you care?

This weekend was the biggest UK Climate Change protest ever, 100,000 people protested. I was moved to act thanks to Champions FOR Earth an incredible group of athletes who use their voices to make a difference.

The chanting and the mass participation was intense. Facing the truth, together, that if we fail to act, millions will die; face mass migration; 1 million species are at risk of extinction. It is terrifying! I felt emotional, yet supported alongside The Green Runners Innes Fitzgerald, my 83 year old Uncle Bill, cousin Ivan and my dear uni friend Gem and her daughter! At the end of the Biodiversity March, tens of thousands of protesters lay on the roads for the 'Die In'. We look happy but fuelled by fear.

The UN reports record levels for greenhouse gasses, global temperatures and rising sea levels. Our government admits they will fail to cut greenhouse gas emissions to hit their net 0 targets. The media barely covered it, so much for free speech.

Two years ago I felt utter despair for the future of Earth, I felt hopeless. Champions4Earth picked me up, supported and motivated me to use my voice as an athlete! It is time to find the courage to act now and do our bit! I urge all athletes, to check out Champions FOR Earth, who give regular online talks with incredible speakers.

“Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire, to unite people in a way that little else does…a create hope where once there was only despair!” Nelson Mandella and quoted by the incredible Dave Hampton.

We all have the power, we can all be Champions for Earth! We must all act now, let’s work together, let's act like we care!

Winter sports are 'nailing lid on own coffin' by accepting sponsorship from polluters A new report highlights firms responsible for climate-heating pollution are sponsoring winter sports while also driving snow melt. And it calls on those in the winter sports industry, currently energy-intensive itself, to become zero carbon by 2030.

Honoured to be invited to speak on Julian Roberts' podcast 'Helping Organisations Thrive' to explore post traumatic growth and business lessons from sport.

Anna became paralysed in a snowboarding accident in 2006. She got back on snow, won World Cup medals and represented Great Britain in two Paralympic Games, achieving Britain’s best ever result in Women Sitting Alpine Skiing, in Sochi 2014. A steadfast focus around her passions helped Anna turn a paralysing injury around to achieve international success remarkably quickly. Great to celebrate hearing this year’s new cohort of mentors and athletes speak about how sport has taught them resilience, to take opportunities, patience, teamwork, self-belief, gratitude for the privilege of being an athlete and how excited they are to get started!

Launched by a talk from Olympian and former diplomat, Cath Bishop on exploring what success looks like, encouraging us all to question ourselves and look into our personal identities. Together we can grow in partnership which is what The True Athlete Project is all about, working together to build a more compassionate society!

Excited for TAP 2021!
