Mrs H Teaches Online tuition from a classroom based primary teacher. All Primary subjects & stages covered and up

As an avid reader and amateur writer, literacy is a favourite subject of mine and I take great pleasure in helping children unlock their creativity in this area. I love encouraging them to discover new worlds and characters when reading and help them to develop a rich and varied vocabulary in their writing. I strive to provide teaching and learning experiences that are specifically tailored to you

r child's needs and provide depth and challenge to their thinking. I hope that I haven't bored you too much and that my drive to encourage children to be the best that they can be shines through. If you have questions or want to chat about your specific requirements then I'd love to hear from you!

I've had some enquiries about conducting small group lessons for NAT 5 Maths. I would run these once a week between now and the exams (location tbc but in Larkhall area). Starting from week beginning Monday 4th April.
If you're interested or know someone who this would benefit then please feel free to send me a message.

This is an excellent video explaining how children need to be able to partition numbers quickly in order for them to be able to add and and subtract easily.
Often times children are pushed on too quickly to the column addition and subtraction method before they are really secure in mental agility and that is a vital building block for knowledge

How to add and subtract numbers within 100 without counting on or back in steps of 1, using a 2-step strategy of 'stopping at a number in the 10 times table'...

How to Support After School Meltdowns

Meltdowns are caused by triggers which have mounted during the school day - when working with a child or young person I would be looking to identify those triggers so we can provide strategies to lessen those and educate the young person around coping skills.

Now is the time to get outside and do as many of these as we can while the weather is good! A dirty kid is a happy kid!
