If you went to the fabulous Green Scythe Fair at the weekend and are inspired to learn how to mow using this most sustainable and environmentally friendly method, then we have just the course for you.

This Friday (19th June) and the following Friday (26th), we are running a two-day Scything course. We will show you how to set up your scythe, how to maintain it and various scything techniques. The course will also cover the environmental benefits of meadow management.

The course is funded for anyone over 19, living in Somerset and earning less than £22,570 or with a health or wellbeing need.

A wonderfilled day of sunshine, scything, wondering fish, feasting, laughing, dancing & singing, friends reuniting & new ones made, demonstrations & workshops & inspiring talks (& so much more!) helping us feel connected & empowered to live ecologically sustainable supporting nature & rejuvenating the land. Thank you all who came & made this the best GSF ever! And most importantly a massive thank you to all the volunteers who make GSF happen from the dedicated committee to the stewards & glass washer uppers! Without you the event wouldn’t happen.
