Our Read Play Sing group is starting again on Friday 28th August. 9.30am-11am at The Community Centre.
Come along with your wee ones and enjoy some time reading, playing and singing together. We look forward to welcoming you. Please share with anyone you think might enjoy coming along. 😃

We, at Langholm Playcare, would like to say a huge thank you to all our parents and families for the lovely cards, gifts and kind words. They are very much appreciated and mean so much to all of us!

To all the children who are moving on to their next big adventure, we wish you the very best of luck! We have loved watching you grow, learn, make friends and become the wonderful little people you are today.

We know we will still see many of you during holidays, so it isn't quite goodbye! We look forward to hearing all about your adventures, watching you continue to grow and seeing those familiar faces when you come back.

For those heading off on a new adventure, we hope you have lots of fun, make lots of new friends and enjoy every minute!

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your children's early years journey. We feel very lucky to have shared so many special memories with them.

Our Baby Group will start up again on Wednesday 26th August. 1.30pm-2.30pm in The Community Centre. Come along and participate in some baby massage and enjoy a cuppa and a chat and meet other parents with other children of a similar age.
Please pass this on to other parents you think may be interested.

Yesterday and 1 day last month we took all of our children from Langholm Playcare, from our youngest at just 1 year old right through to our school-age children, to the Buccleuch Centre for lunch and then to enjoy a film on the big screen. We watched Toy Story and Shrek.
We couldn't be more proud of them — all children were amazingly well behaved! It was lovely to see them enjoying themselves.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the The Buccleuch Centre for your patience and for making us feel so welcome. We really appreciate you accommodating such a big, lively group of children!
And a big thank you to CastleView Catering at The Buccleuch Centre for providing such a lovely lunch. It was delicious and very much enjoyed by everyone! Thank you also for your patience, help and kindness.
Days like this don't happen without lots of people working together, and we really do appreciate it 😊🥰

Modern Apprentice (2 years ) age 17-24 for Langholm Playcare Ltd

Just left school or looking for a fresh start? Want to earn while you learn? This could be for you!

HOURS:
• Around 30 hours per week

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Supporting children in the playroom
• Joining in with games, activities, and daily routines
• Helping set up and tidy throughout the day
• Being part of a friendly team

REAL TALK:
This job is busy and hands-on — you’ll be on your feet, getting involved all day. No sitting about, but it’s great fun and really rewarding!

WHAT YOU GET:
• Work towards an SVQ Level 3 in Childcare
• Learn on the job with support and guidance
• Build skills for a future career

IMPORTANT:
• A PVG (Disclosure Scotland) check will be required
• You will need to register with the SSSC (we’ll guide you through this)
Please note: both fees are payable by the applicant

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
• Is aged 17–24
• Is friendly, caring, and up for getting stuck in
• Has a good attitude and wants to learn
• Works well with others

A great first step into childcare and a chance to gain real experience while earning.

Did you know that if you meet certain criteria, your 2 year old may be eligible for funded early learning and childcare at Langholm Playcare?
FUNDED EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE FOR 2 YEAR OLDS
Early learning and childcare combines education and care for children under school age.

If you are the parent of a 2-year-old and are in receipt of certain benefits you could qualify for up to 1,140 hours of funded early learning and childcare.

The exact number of hours depends on when in the school year your child’s place starts – a later start means fewer hours.

ELIGIBILITY FOR FUNDING

Eligibility is based on parents who receive one of the following:

• Income Support (IS)
• Job Seeker's Allowance (income based)
• any income related element of Employment and Support Allowance
• Incapacity or Severe Disablement Allowance
• State Pension Credit
• support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Universal Credit and your household take-home pay is £885 a month or less

Or a 2-year-old who is:

• looked after (by the local authority)
• under a Kinship Care Order
• living with a Parent Appointed Guardian (please provide Court Order confirming this)
• care experienced or has a parent who is care experienced

• you have checked you meet the eligibility criteria

Date for your diary-Langholm Playcare Open Evening and AGM on 8th September. This is a great opportunity to see all the rooms set up and have a chat with staff, ask questions and enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine. We do the open evening from 5.30pm and the AGM around 6.30pm, please come along.
