Have you ever seen a horse repeatedly tossing its head during exercise?

While there are many possible causes, some horses suffer from a neurological condition known as equine headshaking.
Research is helping us understand this complex condition and improve the lives of affected horses. Link in Bio.

🐴 New research offers fresh hope for horses living with headshaking

The Langford Trust is delighted to fund an exciting new clinical research project that could help improve the lives of horses affected by trigeminal-mediated headshaking (TMHS).
TMHS is one of the most challenging neurological conditions encountered in equine practice, causing involuntary head movements, facial pain and significant welfare concerns. Despite years of research, treatment options remain limited.

A grant from the Langford Trust is supporting a pilot study led by Dr Veronica Roberts at the University of Bristol, investigating an innovative, non-invasive pain management technique that has already been used successfully in human medicine.

💙 Every donation helps us fund pioneering veterinary research that improves the lives of animals.
