Cockerham Parochial Church of England Primary School

The phone lines have been busy in Robins class this week! The children loved their drama time pretending to be Mr and Mrs Grinling on the phones and discussing ways to stop the pesky seagulls from stealing Mr Grinlings lunch. There were lots of very imaginative ideas!

The Robins and Swallows children have been busy investigating physical and human features around our local area. The children thought about things they love about Cockerham village and what we could improve. We are so fortunate to go to school in such a beautiful place.

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed using their orienteering skills to navigate maps in PE this week. They learned how to give directions using compass points.

This week in celebration worship, we had lots of children sharing their sporting achievements including football awards, dance awards and our school swimmer of the week. Well done to you all 🌟

The Robins and Swallows children had a great time exploring habitats, minibeast hunting and then splashing in the water pathways at Martin Mere Wetlands. It was great fun and there were lots of very soggy socks!

EYFS, Year one and Year Two had a wonderful day out to Martin Mere to find out about different habitats. The children took part in pond dipping and then identified what they had found. They showed their fantastic balancing skills on the stepping stones!

The Robins and Swallows children loved learning about what the cows eat and then having a go at mixing their own food for the cows. The cows definitely enjoyed eating it too! We all had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone at Fernhill Farm.
