The Government has now announced a crackdown on hidden nursery charges after families reported being asked to pay for essentials like nappies and suncream – alongside non-refundable deposits and compulsory extra hours to access funded childcare places.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson has now asked the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to investigate the additional costs facing parents, warning she 'will not accept' families being stopped from getting what they were promised.

It blows my mind how some people think it’s no big deal to just hand a whole grape to a toddler. Grapes are one of the top choking hazards for kids, yet we act like it’s some big parenting win to let them figure it out on their own.

Cut the grapes! It’s not hard, and it could save a life. Why are we out here playing Russian roulette with our kid’s safety just for the sake of convenience or because “they’re old enough”? Kids are still learning how to chew properly, and their airways are way smaller than ours.

It’s common sense—cut the grapes, save the stress, and don’t be that parent who ends up wishing they had.
