Walking through the park near our home the other day I noticed a clump of Ragwort behaving strangely. It isn’t usual to see it growing in a public park at all, but is so striking with it’s bright yellow flowers it tends to stand out…. Read more in my Field Notes on the website 💛

One of the most extraordinary things I've learned is that caterpillars don't just sprout wings. Inside the chrysalis, they mostly disintegrate into a kind of cellular soup before being rebuilt into something entirely different.

Sometimes change feels like that for us too. Like everything has fallen apart before it comes back together again.

Nature reminds me that the messy middle isn't failure. It's often part of becoming.

I wrote a little more about this after finding a ragwort plant covered in cinnabar moth caterpillars in the local park.

It’s been a really strange few months since I was told we’d have to leave our home as our field was being sold.

I’ve been through every emotion possible, several times a day and reached some incredible lows at times. But nature has helped me through all of it, as it always does, reminding me that change is the only constant in life.

Having the ability to keep moving forward no matter what life throws at us is a skill to be learned, and spending time in nature has helped me tremendously.

I’m so grateful for my Forest Therapy training, to help me to navigate all of this, to be able to take time out and slow down surrounded by nature is so powerful when faced with big life changes. I’m also so grateful we found a new home and garden, that we can really make our own, surrounded by amazing neighbours 🧡🌳✨

Thank you for being here while I figure things out, I’ve been pretty quiet here for a while, but I really appreciate you still following along and being here. I am going to be around much more now that much of the moving and sorting has been done 🌳🌳🌳🌳

This coming Sunday is the Summer Solstice, our longest day. I'm celebrating by holding space for two Forest Therapy events.

The first in the morning is a donation only taster in Avenham & Miller parks in Preston. The second is an early evening full session at Beacon Fell, Goosnargh with a warming cup of Cacao.

If you've joined me at any of my Forest Therapy sessions before, or if you're brand new and have never tried Forest Bathing before, you're very welcome.

Please get in touch to reserve your place,

Rachael x

I nearly didn’t run this session. Life feels heavy at the moment, and I know I’m not the only one feeling it, but that’s exactly why I am. I need time in the woods too. And I want to mark the Spring Equinox, Ostara, with time in nature.

This Sunday, I’m holding a small, group forest therapy session. No pressure, no expectations, just space to breathe, slow down, and be held by nature for a couple of hours. Whether you have or haven't forest bathed before, you're very welcome

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched, or like you just need a pause… this is for you.

There are a few spaces available, and I’d really love to share it with people who need it right now. Comment or dm me for more information and to book your place.

Wow, there's a lot going on out there isn't there?

If you ever thought about running away to the forest, here's your chance. I still a couple of places left this Sunday for 2.5 hours of grounded and guided time in nature at Beacon Fell. And while you'll have to go home again afterwards, you can take the best parts of the forest with you.

Comment FOREST below and I'll send you the details.

Anyone else want to run away to the woods and escape the world this weekend?

Oh wow am I feeling the end of this lunar year!! Talk about shedding! My life has taken a very unexpected turn as we come to the end of the snake 🐍 year. I am shedding in ways I did not expect or welcome. But I have to trust that it’s all part of this experience of life and just be witness to the unfolding. ✨✨

But oh wow it’s so tough! And heartbreaking and gut wrenchingly painful.

I hope this shedding is being kind with you ✨✨
