Congratulations to all collecting their GCSE results today! 🥳
I've already had some fantastic results come through this morning from my pupils, but in case today isn't what you'd hoped for, here are 3 things to remember.
1) There is a life after today! All the pressure over the last two years can leave you feeling like your GCSE results are the deciders of your future. Truth is, regardless of what your results are today, you can still go on to achieve great things.
2) There's more to you than a piece of paper with some grades on it. Your GCSE results only tell part of the story of who you are as a person, and your core values are much more important than the grades you get today.
3) Nobody gets a job solely based on their GCSE grades. Employers look for people who are resilient and are problem solvers. If you've ended up with results that didn't match your expectations, yet still continue to work hard to get to where you want to be, your future employers will see that as determination and dedication to your chosen pathway and they will value that much higher.
Remember you can always resit too! At any point in your life! Enjoy today regardless of what a piece of paper in an envelope tells you, as getting to the end of your GCSE'S is an achievement in itself. You are just as worthy of a celebration even if your results aren't what you expected.
Congratulations to you all, again, and have a prosperous new academic year.

Thank you so much to everyone that came along to my first ever in person science workshops today! We had great fun learning about pollination and building bug hotels in the biology session, learning about chemical reactions and trying to power boats using chemical reactions in the chemistry session, and learning about how electricity is made and building a battery in the physics session. A lot of learning took place (for both the pupils and myself!) and a great time was had by all 🥰
A huge thank you also to Dail Bach - Little Leaves for allowing these sessions to run at your wonderful setting! Today wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful without this beautiful venue 💕
