This week is This Girl Can week 🙌🏼
This Girl Can is a multi‑award‑winning campaign powered by Sport England that celebrates active girls and women and if funded by The National Lottery. It’s aim is to close the gender activity gap by breaking down the emotional and practical barriers that prevent girls from getting active.
As part of our celebrations, we are delighted to welcome DANCE & MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES IN WELWYN, HERTFORD & BROXBOURNE into school to deliver fun and engaging dance sessions for all our girls. A big thank you to them! 🙌🏼💛

We are so proud of our wonderful school and all the things that make it such a special place to learn and grow ❤️

We wanted to share some of Year 6’s favourite things about our school, including our amazing Caterpillar Café, our fantastic sports offer, Forest School adventures and of course, our incredible staff who make every day so memorable!

Your Reception buddies have a special message for you before SATs next week… we believe in you, we’re proud of you and we know how hard you’ve worked. 🌟

Remember: SATs do not measure your kindness, your creativity, your bravery, your friendships, or the wonderful people you are. They are only one small moment in your journey.

We hope you see yourselves the way your buddies see you: inspiring, clever, caring and amazing every single day. ✨

Today, some of our pupils were lucky enough to take part in a wonderful trip to see Wicked the musical in London! 💚✨

Our students enjoyed the music, the story and the incredible staging, it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. It was so lovely to see the children joining in with songs they had learnt as part of the Young Voices choir!

We were also lucky enough to take part in a Q&A session after the show, where cast members shared their experiences, answered our questions and gave us a behind-the-scenes insight into life in the theatre 🎭

A really memorable day for everyone involved! 🌟

⚽️🌟 We’re proud to share that our school has been awarded the Barclays Girls’ Football in Schools Equal Access School Award! 🌟⚽️

This recognises our commitment to ensuring that both girls and boys have equal opportunities to enjoy football; whether it be through our curriculum lessons or our extra-curricular clubs.

From the huge success of Mr Shepherd’s girls’ football club to our fantastic girls’ team representing the school in matches and tournaments, we are so proud of the enthusiasm the girls show and the fantastic teamwork and talent on display. 💪

Here’s to continuing to grow the game for everyone! 💙⚽️

Year 6 and their Reception buddies teamed up for a fantastic afternoon of sport on Friday! 🏃‍♀️

Our older pupils showed great leadership, helping to teach and support key skills like accuracy in throwing, controlled jumping, and even trying their hand at archery 🎯 The teamwork and encouragement on display made it a brilliant learning experience for everyone involved.

The afternoon finished with plenty of smiles and laughter as the children took part in some fun relay races, a perfect way to celebrate their hard work together! 🙌

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Andrew Lewin, to visit us this morning! ✨

Despite his busy schedule, Andrew took the time to speak with the children and thoughtfully answered their questions, giving us a real insight into life as an MP. We learned all about Parliament, how laws are made, and why it’s so important to use our voices and vote.

A big thank you as well to Elsie and Joshua for proudly showing him around the school, it was lovely to chat to Andrew about their journeys towards secondary school too.

Andrew is a genuinely kind and approachable person… and it was great to discover shared interests in football, cricket and more!
