Home - Fairtrade Foundation 21/07/2022

Dear all,
As you may know last October the AHS Green Impact team received a Bronze award. This year we are working towards a School Green Impact Silver award and one of the actions is about encouraging the use of products which are either certified Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance or organic. We would like to encourage you to purchase these products as much as possible (many of you are probably already are doing so).

All of these organisations are working to improve working/social conditions and/or environmental conditions. If you want to find out more, these links may be of interest to you.

First Steps Nutrition Trust 12/05/2022

Warm congratulations to Marita Sohkin, first ever winner of the Helen Crawley essay prize, awarded by the First Steps Nutrition Trust. First Steps Nutrition Trust is an independent public health charity, and Helen's work there was pivotal to the success of the organisation and the high regard in which it is held. Helen also worked for many years at Kingston University and our staff and students benefitted enormously from her knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise. She continues to be passionate about the importance of early life nutrition and access to unbiased evidence-based information for parents and carers as well as healthcare professionals.

Marita was judged the winner by First Steps Nutrition Trust and their Trustees, who looked at the top five essays for this module. She is a very worthy winner, and the standard was high so she had great competition. It is a unique achievement to add to her CV. Very well done Marita! Thank you to First Steps Nutrition Trust for offering such a great opportunity to our students, and to Dr Helen Crawley for her amazing work to highlight the fundamental importance of early life nutrition.

For more about First Steps Nutrition Trust:
