Rosemary scented water

Today we made rosemary scented water for natural sensory play and exploration.
This activity is perfect for outdoor water play and for exploring the plants and their properties.
We used scissors to cut the herbs and then made natural infusions which smell wonderful.

You can also cut the branches and put it in a bowl with water then leave it overnight to soak in. It is a real treat for the senses!
To finish we prepared a lovely cup of tea with some of the rosemary branches- not the easiest to drink but the benefits are many.

🕯Diy ice lamp🕯

To celebrate tomorrow's winter solstice we decided to create ice lamps.
Fill a balloon with water and tie it off. Then leave it in the freezer for at least 20 hours.
Remove the balloon and make a hole on the base to remove the water, then drill a hole on the top and place a tealight candle.

It is a type of play that supports invention, divergent thinking, problem solving and offers a sense of wonder to children. They are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways.

Sorting Buttons

In sorting objects, children separate them according to similarities and differences.
They understand that things are alike and different aswell as they can belong and be organized in certain groups.
It also helps chidlren to develop a range of thinking skills and build the foundations for later problem solving.

🌿Treasure Basket🌿

Treasure baskets are filled with everyday items made from natural materials, such as a metal/wooden spoon, pinecones, feathers, wooden pegs, cinnamon sticks and much more. A treasure basket gives babies an opportunity to explore, experiment and make choices at their own pace. Sometimes the simplest items in play can be the best.

They are an excellent resource to stimulate concentration, curiosity amd sense of independence.
It has numerous benefits such as enhance the baby's curiosity.
It also helps babies making decisions, since they are in control when they plan, they decide which item to pick to play with and what to do with that item.

You can find these items for sale on my etsy page.
