The letter Ñ. ❕

Ñ appeared in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy in 1803 but the origin of this letter dates back almost 1,000 years.
In Latin, neither the letter or the sound corresponding to the /eñe/ existed but its evolution gave rise to other languages and with it the appearance of the / eñe / nasal-palatal sound
(the air comes out through the nose and when pronouncing it the tongue rests on the palate).
At first the representation of this sound had three different forms:
-nn
-gn
-ni
Eventually the monks, who were practically the only ones who could read and write in the Middle Ages, simplified the double N in Ñ.

And so, with such a cute hairline on top a new letter appeared. By the way, the official name of the line on top is virgulilla. 🤓

SAD NEWS. 😪

I've received the confirmation from the 📚 library that this will not be available at least until New Year so we can't continue with our Spanish Club for now.

I am very sorry 😔 to have to ⏸️ this project but it's not an easy time for anyone so I just hope to see my little Spanish students soon. ❤️💛

HOPEFULLY 2021 WILL BE FULL OF SPANISH. 🇪🇸

Take care and thank you very much to all the families who have been supporting and encouraging me. 😘😘

HERE IT IS !! 🦓💙

One of my favourite Spanish books. I looooove Camila the Zebra.

The vocabulary could be a bit complicated for my students, but I will try to mix it with English.
💙Spaniglish is cool too 😂.

🔺I was thinking that I could read it on Instagram live or do you prefer a youtube video? 🔺

TELL ME 😁

Who doesn't know the song & game "Ring a ring o' roses"? This is the same traditional game but in Spanish. About the meaning of the song and the appearance in history is the same too, The Great Plague.🙊

According to ancient documents, in Spain the term "achupé" was a consequence of the sneeze/ estornudo 🤧 produced by Black Death in patients who suffered it, while in the English song/canción 🎵 the word used was "Atishoo"🤧.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Al corro de la patata🥔 comeremos ensalada 🥗, lo que comen los señores, naranjitas 🍊 y limones🍋.
Achupé, achupé sentadito me quedé."

💞I really like to sing&play this song&game at nursery. 💞
