In Rabbits room, children have enjoyed playing alongside one another and are becoming increasingly confident in exploring new activities. They showed great curiosity and enthusiasm when introduced to a range of new activities, including mark-making in gloop, filling and pouring using chickpeas and collage. The highlight of the week was the introduction of the parachute, which was a huge success! The children were excited to join in, sharing smiles and laughter! This created a fun and engaging experience for everyone.

What started with the children building taller and taller towers soon led to a very important question…

“What if the tower falls on our heads?” 😄
From this, the children designed their own helmets using boxes and other resources. Then their ideas developed even further… and the helmets became robots! 🤖

The children have been planning, talking, problem-solving, designing, creating and working together — all driven by their own ideas and curiosity.

This is child-led learning at its best. We follow their ideas, give them the space and resources to explore, and see where their thinking takes them.

Now they're painting their robots, and we can't wait to see where their sustained play and learning takes us next week!
Who knows what their robots will become? 🤖🎨

🏛️🛡️ Year 4 Panthers had a fantastic trip to the Hull and East Riding Museum! 🛡️🏛️

The children enjoyed a hands-on Roman workshop, handling artefacts, investigating mosaic pieces, building a Roman arch and trying on Roman clothing. They also explored the Roman galleries before stepping into the Roman Forum to buy and sell goods using replica Roman coins.

A wonderful day of learning, teamwork and bringing history to life. ⭐🐾

🌟 EYFS Construction Zone Success! 🌟

This week, our young builders have been incredibly busy in the construction area, demonstrating fantastic creativity, imagination and teamwork. From designing and creating robots using boxes and loose parts to working together to build an enormous tower that stretched high above their heads, the children have been fully immersed in their learning.

What has been particularly impressive is the increasing amount of sustained shared thinking and collaboration taking place. Children have been discussing ideas, solving problems together, negotiating roles and supporting one another to achieve their goals. Whether carefully balancing blocks to make their tower stronger or working as a team to design and decorate their robot creations, they have shown resilience, communication skills and determination throughout.

These experiences are helping to develop so much more than construction skills. The children are building confidence, learning to persevere when things don't go to plan, and discovering the value of working together towards a shared outcome.

We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork and deep engagement we are seeing across EYFS. It is wonderful to watch the children take ownership of their learning and turn their ideas into reality! 🏗️🤖⭐
