What a great way to start the last week of the school year!

We have loved having Lewie Coyle Football Academy this term. Not only have the children increased their physical activity, but it has also had such a positive impact on their resilience, confidence and social skills.
We cannot wait to continue working with them next year!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Free School Meals from September 2026 – Are you now eligible?

The Department for Education is making major updates to Free School Meals (FSM) starting this September. Changes to eligibility mean many more families will now qualify, while the system for checking existing claims is changing.

Here is what you need to know:

Expanded Eligibility: From September 2026, ALL families receiving Universal Credit are entitled to free school meals, even if you were previously told you earned too much.

Existing Claims: If your child already receives FSM, you do not need to reapply. Local authorities are automatically reviewing existing claims. You only need to take action if they contact you directly.

New Applicants: You must apply through the Local Authority where your child's school is located (Hull, East Riding, or North Yorkshire).

Applying not only provides free meals but also unlocks vital extra funding (Pupil Premium) to support your child’s education.

For full details go to: St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Academy Trust - Important Updates to Free School Meals for September 2026 - https://www.scrcat.org/News/Important-Updates-to-Free-School-Meals-for-Septemb/

The children have had a fantastic afternoon in their Lewie Coyle Football Academy session. We even had a special visit from Lewie, who brought his Championship Play Off Final medal to show the children! Thank you for a fantastic afternoon!

A huge well done to our year 5s and year 6 percussionists who took part in tonight’s St Cuthbert’s music Spectacular. You were amazing and we are really proud of you all.

We have loved working with Lewie Coyle Football Academy over the summer term. The impact on the children has been amazing - We would recommend them for both curriculum and extra curricular sessions.

We're incredibly proud to be working with schools across our local community, helping children build confidence, develop key life skills and enjoy being active. 🧡⚽

Over the past 12 weeks, Zak has been delivering PE lessons and after school sport at St Charles Primary School, creating positive experiences for pupils through sport and physical activity.

A huge thank you to Sarah, Headteacher at St Charles, for her lovely feedback. Reviews like this are a reflection of the passion and commitment our coaches bring to every session.

At LCFA, every lesson is built around our six wellbeing fundamentals: Respect, Teamwork, Confidence, Positivity, Understanding Winning & Losing, and Being a Good Teammate.

We're proud to support schools in our community and help young people thrive through sport.

If you'd like to find out more about our bespoke school sport and education programmes, get in touch to see how your school can get involved. 🙌
