This week, our merit superstars are:

Reception
Annie – for great work in Maths. Annie has come up with lots of different patterns. She can explain the pattern rule and count how many units.

Toby – for his great attitude at sports day this week. Toby cheered everyone on and helped out his friends when they were a bit unsure.

Year 1
Erin – for some super work with your story based on Sally and the Limpet. You used super sentences with capital letters and full stops and was very entertaining to read. Well done. What a fantastic writer!

Lenny – for an amazing effort on sports day. You never fail to amaze us all with your super speedy running and your fantastic agility. You really do shine Lenny. Well done!

Doodlemaths Mila W Active Al - Ire

Year 2
Harry – for showing great listening skills on our trip. He was really engaged, sorted out essentials Amy Johnson needed for her flight and explained why.

Theo – for always being a supportive friend. Theo has been so kind to others, so encouraging especially on sports day and always there to help.

Doodlemaths – Elisse Active Al - Jude

Year 3
Harry – for his amazing attitude and effort on sports day. He took part in everything and whether he won or lost did it with a smile on his face.

Sophia – for all round amazing work but especially for the poster she did about kitchen safety in DT. She clearly listened well and remembered everything!

Doodlemaths - Sekemi

Year 4
Alex – for his continuous enthusiasm for Maths. He spots patterns, makes connections and works systematically with confidence and a positive attitude.

Arif – for a brilliant first few months at Springhead. He is cheerful, hardworking and kind. He’s working really hard on his handwriting too.

Doodlemaths – Allana

Year 5
Adam – for your attitude and approach towards writing this week, always trying to improve your work and responding well to feedback.

Emily – for detailed, interesting and eye-catching vector images created using the computer – a great effort!

Year 6
Sophie – for really insightful contributions on our discussion on positivity. She was so reflective and demonstrated her positive outlook on life.

Olivia – for brilliant contributions to our discussion on positivity. She shared personal experiences and gave examples of how negativity can affect us. She was very articulate.

Year two loved their visit to the street life museum today! We had lots of fun looking at different artefacts and even had a special visit from Amy Johnson✈️🤩

A HUGE thank you to all our families for turning out today and making our Sports Day and family picnic an amazing day. The children absolutely love the support of their families and it was fabulous to see everyone on the field enjoying the picnic at lunchtime. The staff will all sleep well tonight so hopefully the children will too. ❤️

Rounders champions - Two titles in two weeks, we love to see it! Super proud of this Year 6 rounders team, who put in consistently strong performances. In order to prepare for the finals tournament, they gave up their free time to develop their skills - and boy was it on show today! Great teamwork, smart decision making and some truly big hitting! What a summer team this is turning out to be for sport at our school. Well done team, you played brilliantly! X

This week, our merit awards go to:

Reception
Nicole – for writing a fantastic sentence about her holiday. Nicole used her knowledge of phonics and independently wrote her sentence.

Jude – for his brilliant sentence to match a picture from his holiday. Excellent use of phonics and lovely letter formation.

Year 1
Jesse – for settling into our Guided Reading sessions wonderfully. You listen carefully, answer questions about the text and share your opinions. It’s always lovely to hear what you have to say.

Millie – for your growing confidence and maturity in Year 1. Millie has grown up so much this year. She always tries her hardest in whatever she does and has become an independent and positive member of the class.

Doodlemaths Samuel Active Al - Elizabeth

Year 2
Ella-Rose – for great work in Maths this week when doing Shape. Ella tried really hard with symmetry with mirrors.

Elisse – for great work in Geography when learning about Inuit lifestyle. She created a lovely storyboard of activities to show what they’d get up to in a day.

Doodlemaths – Evelyn Active Al - Ziggy

Year 3
Madison – for presenting all her work beautifully. For always taking the time to make sure her work is the absolute BEST she is capable of AND for being all round BRILLIANT!

Yasmin - for great work in Maths. Year 3 have been working at fractions of amounts. Yasmin listens well, shows all her working out neatly (and uses a ruler) and she’s a maths whizz!

Doodlemaths - Charles

Year 4
Lydia – for very careful attention to detail when painting in the style of David Hockney on the iPads.
Harold – for brilliant iPad painting in the style of David Hockney. He worked so hard to add shadow and texture.
Doodlemaths – Lucas

Year 5
Matilda B – for an engaging descriptive writing piece on a Viking raid, complete with ambitious vocabulary and personification; a great read.

Asher – for producing a piece of creative writing that had Viking specific vocabulary, as well as description that appealed to the senses. Well done!

Year 6
Finlay – for being an ‘always’ child. Polite, respectful, hard-working … and all round wonderful!

Ethan – for his amazing confidence and sales skill when helping at the charity stall. Thank you for all of your help. Car salesman in the making…!

Thank you to everyone who came to our charity shop tonight... don't worry if you missed it..
You will have another chance to grab a bargain at sports day next week.
We will also have a biscuit decorating stall.

All proceeds go towards the Year 6 enterprise!

So proud of our girls - EAST RIDING SFA GIRLS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!! 🙌🏽 🎉 🥳

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Our girls football team have been crowned the East Riding SFA League Champions 2026!

5 Games. 4 Wins. 0 losses. 9 goals scored and zero goals conceded.

What an amazing group of young girls, who demonstrated amazing work rate and professionalism in the heat at Wolfreton School. There were goals galore, defensive discipline but an absolutely unrivalled team spirit.

Girls… we have always believed in you and you have delivered in the most incredible way. To every single player, enjoy this moment - you deserve it!

We could not be more proud of our Springhead Lilywhites ❤️.
