Well done to Y6 pupils, Robin, Izzy, Rose, and Arthur, who recently took part in the first ever Junior National Reading Champions Quiz, organised by the National Literacy Trust and hosted online by the hilarious Mr Dilly. 📚

Competing against teams from across the country, they answered a whopping 55 questions on children’s literature, tackling dingbat puzzles and video clues amongst other things.

They did brilliantly, just missing out on a podium place and are determined to compete again next year (along with Tranby Tom, their trusty mascot!).
Great work, Team Tranby! And thank you to our Senior School Librarian, Dr Holman for organising our pupils’ participation. 👏

We are very proud of Elizabeth in Year 6, who has been offered a place at the Humber Hockey Junior Academy for this season. 🏑⭐
This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of her hard work, commitment and talent in the sport. 👏

Elizabeth dedicates several evenings each week, including training sessions with our senior school teams, to developing her hockey skills, showing real determination and enthusiasm.💪
Being selected for the Junior Academy will give her the opportunity to continue developing her game, learn from specialist coaches and train alongside other talented young players.

We wish Elizabeth the very best of luck for the season ahead and every success as she embraces this exciting new opportunity.💫

🎻 A huge well done to Connie, who has achieved her Grade 3 Violin, Level 1 Award with Distinction!
Connie plays violin at school, and it has been wonderful to see her musical skills develop throughout her time in the Prep School and now into Senior School.

🎨 Autumnal creativity in the Prep Art Studio!

Our Year 2 and Year 3 pupils were getting creative during Saturday’s Open Day, exploring colour, pattern and print through a wonderfully seasonal pumpkin project.
They experimented with colour mixing to create and match the perfect pumpkin tones, before using bubble wrap to create a playful ‘dots and spots’ background through repeat printing.
Both lessons built on previously taught painting techniques, encouraging pupils to develop their own artistic approaches while exploring warm and cool colour blending.
Inspired by the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, the finished pieces are full of colour, pattern and personality. 🍂🎃

What an Open Day! 🎉
On Saturday, we welcomed a huge volume of new families through our doors, with even more visitors joining us than last year to experience Tranby for themselves.
Our teachers and pupils pulled out all the stops to showcase what makes a Tranby education exceptional.
With pupils achieving above predicted grades in every single subject in 2026, our Sixth Form growing by 263% in just one year, and 96% of our A-level pupils securing their first-choice university place, there is plenty to showcase.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success, and to all the families who joined us. We loved having you here!

Anna has made the local news with her marvellous achievement in the BBC’s Young Chorister of the Year! 🎉

'We’ve always known she’s got a nice voice and it comes quite easily to her'
