We are so proud to celebrate an outstanding set of A-Level results at Tranby, with 80% of students achieving A* to B grades and 96% securing places at their first-choice university.

From leading universities to degree apprenticeships, the world of work and travelling the world, this year's cohort are heading off to exciting futures.

Some of our success stories include:

⭐ Ruby – A*, A, B – Veterinary Medicine at Bristol

As our Head, Mr Wainman, said: “This year's destinations reflect the breadth of talent within Tranby Sixth Form. We have future vets, doctors, engineers, linguists, lawyers, sports coaches and more heading to universities across the country. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, determination and character.”

We couldn't be prouder. Congratulations to our entire Year 13 cohort — we can't wait to see what comes next!

Learn to Grow and Grow to learn! 🌱

This week marks National Allotments Week – a celebration of the many things we can learn when we get our hands in the soil.
Patience. Responsibility. Resilience. Teamwork. And, of course, where our food comes from!

From our incredible outdoor spaces to forest school, at Tranby we know that the great outdoors contributes to a great indoors and that some of the most valuable lessons don’t always happen in a classroom.

It’s what makes Tranby such an invigorating place for children to learn. 🌟

Happy National Book Lovers Day! 📖

From getting lost in a fictional world to discovering a new passion, books have a wonderful way of opening young minds to new ideas, places and possibilities.

Today, we’re celebrating the joy of reading and all the adventures that begin with turning a page.

Have you had any time to read a good book over the summer? With so many bookworms at Tranby, we have no doubt that many of our pupils will have done.

Please share your recommendations in the comments – we would love to see them!

We're incredibly proud to have been commended in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026 in the Prep School of the Year category.

Thank you to our whole school community for making Tranby such a special place to learn and grow.

During the final week of term, our Lower Sixth students embarked upon their work experience placements, gaining invaluable experience with employers across the region.
Careers Coordinator, Mrs Harding has been really impressed during her visits – here’s the fantastic Lily at Riley Engineering in Burstwick. She thrived in a traditionally male-dominated environment, embracing every opportunity and getting thoroughly stuck in.

A huge thank you to Mrs Harding, whose dedication to matching students with placements that reflect their ambitions has helped build a careers programme for which Tranby is renowned. Her passion, expertise and unwavering support give our students the confidence to take their next steps with purpose.
We couldn't be prouder of our students and everything they achieved.

📚 Year of Reading | August

As the summer holidays continue, there's still plenty of time to discover a great book!
This month we're recommending Lord of the Flies: The Graphic Novel, illustrated and adapted by Aimée de Jongh from William Golding's classic novel.

Voted the winner of the 2026 Carnegie Shadowers' Choice Award for Illustration, it's a brilliant example of how timeless stories can be brought to life for a new generation of readers.
With recommendations from our very own Carnegie Medals judge, Dr Kathy Holman, our pupils are never short of inspiration for what to read next.💫

While we believe education is about developing confident, kind and capable young people rather than simply chasing results, we reflect with great pride on the remarkable academic achievements of our Prep School pupils this year.💫
When we compare our results to those achieved on a national level, it’s clear to see that a Tranby education is one that holds significant value.
The statistics are certainly impressive, but they tell only part of the story. We are incredibly proud not only of what our children achieve, but of the people they are becoming.
And we know there will be more amazing news to share from our Senior School in August on GCSE and A-Level results days! 🤩

From Tranby’s first-class tennis facilities to the Nottingham Open! 🎾
Earlier in the summer term, pupils from Years 7–9 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Nottingham Open.

From watching top-level tennis to soaking up the atmosphere of a professional tournament, it was a brilliant opportunity to experience the sport up close and be inspired by some of the sport's brightest emerging talent. 🌟

Experiences like this encourage pupils to aim high, develop a lifelong love of sport and see where passion and dedication can take them.
A huge thank you to our PE staff for organising opportunities like this and for their continued enthusiasm in encouraging every pupil to be the very best they can be.

If your child loves sport, Tranby is the school for them! Come and see what they could achieve at our open day on Saturday 26 September. Book your place here: https://www.tranby.org.uk/news-events/events/details/whole-school-open-event
