🌟 Our OFSTED Report is Now Live! 🌟

We are thrilled to share that our EYFS unit received recognition of a Strong Standard in our recent OFSTED inspection! 🎉

Under the new OFSTED inspection framework, schools are no longer given a single overall headline grade. Instead, inspectors look more deeply at individual areas of provision and schools are given a detailed report card. A “Strong Standard” in Early Years is a step above the expected standard and recognises excellent, consistent practice that is genuinely making a positive difference to children’s’ outcomes.

Settings that achieve a Strong Standard are doing more than simply meeting expectations — they are exceeding them in significant ways, with excellent care, teaching and support helping children to thrive and achieve their very best.

We are especially proud to share this wonderful comment from our inspection report:

“Children in the early years get off to an extremely positive start because of the highly skilled support from adults.”

This achievement reflects the dedication, care and commitment of our incredible staff, the enthusiasm of our amazing children, and the continued support of our families and wider school community.

We are so privileged to be a part of Aldbrough Primary School and we are proud of everything that has been achieved together.

We had the best morning at our EYFS Wedding this morning 💒💍👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️

The children absolutely loved it and we had such a wonderful time!

Anyone for an ice cream? 🍦 nursery and fs1 have loved the new outdoor role play area this morning! We are praying for more sunshine ☀️

🌿🔍 Outdoor Learning Fun! 🔍🌿

We had a wonderful afternoon in our outdoor learning area yesterday! The children got creative and made their very own magnifying glasses before heading out to explore the signs of spring 🌼

With their handmade tools, they carefully searched the area and discovered beautiful flowers blooming all around us. The highlight of the day was spotting a tiny frog hiding amongst the greenery 🐸

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with curiosity, creativity, and exploration. We’re so excited for more warm days ahead as we continue to enjoy and discover the wonders of our outdoor space! ☀️🌱

Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful Mummies, Grandmas, Nannies, Nannas and all the special mother figures in our EYFS children’s lives! 💐

🐦 Great Garden Bird Watch Fun! 🌿

The children had a fantastic time making their own bird feeders for the Great Garden Bird Watch! After creating them, we headed into our nature area to hang them up in the trees, ready for our feathered friends to enjoy.

There were lots of smiles, teamwork, and excitement as we made them and found the perfect spots to hang them. Such a lovely hands-on activity and a great way to care for nature.

❄️ Winter Learning Fun! ❄️

We’ve loved learning all about winter over the last few weeks! The children have enjoyed discovering fascinating facts about penguins and even got creative by making their very own penguins from playdough and paint🐧🎨
We’ve also had lots of fun creating beautiful snowflakes, exploring patterns and shapes along the way ❄️✨

Such a wonderful few weeks of learning, creativity, and wintery fun!

We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and are feeling refreshed and ready for the new term.

A few important reminders for tomorrow:
❄️ Cold weather:
It’s set to be a very cold one (with more possible snow!), so please ensure your child comes to school appropriately dressed – a warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves are ideal.
Children will also need wellies, so please make sure we have a pair at school.

💧 Drinks bottles:
All children must come to school with a pre-filled drinks bottle (we can refill with water during the day). As you can imagine, filling cups for children who don’t bring bottles takes up valuable learning time.

🎒 Book bags:
Book bags are extremely important, especially for children in FS2. Please make sure your child brings their book bag and that it contains everything they need.
