🪂 WE DID IT!

What an incredible experience!

We’ve got some videos from the day, which we will post shortly, so you can see exactly what your amazing support helped make possible.

A huge thank you to every single person who donated, shared our fundraiser, wished us luck or cheered us on. Your generosity is helping us raise money to create an even better environment for the children and we couldn’t have done it without you.

We hope you enjoy watching the videos as much as we enjoyed the experience! We can’t wait to show the children when we’re back at school!

Thank you again for supporting us every step of the way.

And that’s it…another academic year done 👏

Year 6, it has been a pleasure to watch you grow into the independent and confident children you’ve become. Remember that St. Werburgh’s will always be part of your journey and you will always be part of our family, but we know you will go on to achieve great things and we look forward to hearing about your success in the future.

We hope all of our children have a fabulous summer break. Stay safe, have fun and thank you for all your hard work this year - we are proud of each and every one of you.

Thank you to our parents and carers for supporting the school and the children. We are lucky to work with so many wonderful families - we hope you all have some well-deserved rest over the summer break.

Lastly, thank you to the staff for all you do to support the children and the school every single day in so many different ways. Have a fabulous summer.

We look forward to seeing everyone in September and welcome our new reception children to the St. Werburgh’s family.

This week, our Reading Mentors have been collecting votes from the recent competition, where children were asked to take a picture of them reading in their favourite spot. This was linked with the books the children were given from Leek Rotary Club. Our winner was from St. Lydia with second and third prizes being awarded to 2 children from St. Francis. Thank you to all those who entered - there could have been lots of winners! Thank you to those who voted - we received 465 votes in total! Here are the winning entries and the Reading Mentors handing over prizes of 3 books to read in their favourite spot! Well done and thank you to the Reading Mentors and Mrs Corby for organising📚

This morning, our Year 6’s visited church for the final time as a primary school pupil and led the service. During this, they reflected on their time at St. Werburgh’s and shared the important lessons they’d learned and would continue to use in their new adventure. They were presented with bibles to help them remember that God will be by their side 🤍

Last week was National School Sports Week so we started each day being active. The children all used the new equipment or did a mile around our field. It was a great way to start the day 🎳🏃

🪂 SKYDIVING UPDATE

Unfortunately, as is often the case with skydives, the airfield has made the decision to postpone our skydive tomorrow due to high wind conditions at altitude.

We are already in the process of arranging a new date and will keep you all updated as soon as we have one confirmed.

Thank you so much for your incredible support and generosity throughout our fundraising journey. It means the world to us, and we’re keeping everything crossed that we’ll be in the air very soon!

Our Key Stage 2 children have given some fabulous performances in The Wizard of Oz this week. They have all worked so hard and we are so proud of them all. A massive thank you to the children for giving it their all, to everyone who came to watch, to the parents/carers for helping the children learn their lines (you won’t have to keep listening to songs anymore, we promise!) and for providing costumes, to the PTA for providing much needed refreshments and to the staff for all their hard work in putting the performance together. What a wonderful way to end the week 🧙🪄👠🐾🦁💚
