The best run clubs arenât the ones with the fastest people.
Theyâre the ones where somebody notices when youâre gone.
At first, you might join because you want to get fitter.
Maybe you need accountability.
Maybe youâre tired of running alone.
Maybe you just want someone to drag you through the miles you keep skipping.
But somewhere along the way, the reason changes.
You start recognizing the same faces.
Someone saves you a spot.
Someone asks how your race went.
Someone remembers you mentioned a sore knee last week.
And when you miss a few runs, somebody actually checks in.
Thatâs when it stops being âjust a run club.â
Because pace can bring people together.
But being noticed is what makes people stay.
A lot of runners donât need another training plan.
They need a place where their absence means something.
If youâve ever found that kind of running group, what made you realize these people had become more than just people you run with?
