We would like to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you to Rev. Claire Maxim as she moves to a new parish in another part of the country.

Claire has been a governor at Kielder since 2023 and Vice-Chair for some time. She has been extremely proactive in supporting the staff, the children and their families, even down to rushing to school with ‘care packages’ for staff during inspections 😃

We will miss Claire enormously and wish her the very best of luck for the future.

This afternoon, we held our final Celebration of Achievement event of 2025/26 and what end to the year it was!

Our children presented the findings of their Independent Enquiry Projects. This time, the theme was ‘My Big Question’, which gave the children total freedom to choose something that inspires them.

We heard about bees, the solar system, formula 1, bats, games, Kielder Dam and so much more! It was truly amazing.

Equally amazing was the number of people who came along to see the children receive certificates for their efforts this year. Awards were given for achievement across all six domains of our unique Thrive and Excel @ Kielder Framework. As you can see, the children were incredibly proud of themselves.

Thank you to everyone who came to support our wonderful children.

Well, our sports morning was a huge success!

Egg and spoon, three-legged, sack and sprint races, welly wanging and tug of war - our children thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Our families were quite enthusiastic too 😉

🚨 Reminder 🚨

Tomorrow is our final Celebration of Achievement at 1pm in the school hall.

It will be followed by a community event with refreshments and a big raffle! We have some lovely prizes so do come along and support our school! All welcome.

Everyone is welcome to attend either or both events but please note entry to the hall will not be possible while the celebration event is ongoing. Please come for 1.30pm if you just wish to attend the community event.

It’s also been a jam-packed half-term for Otters and Ospreys.

There has been science experiments, a visit to Harbottle Castle with some orienteering thrown in, a three-part workshop with Fiona Lander composer to create a special song for the centenary of Kielder Forest, a fantastic visit to Seaton Delaval Hall to commemorate the architect John Vanbrugh and some great work in computing and art.

It has been a fabulous half-term for our youngest children.

From baking and planting to reading, playing and exploring, Miss Bond has done an amazing job of ensuring that our Little Squirrels have made excellent progress.

We would love you to come to our Celebration of Achievement and community social event on Friday 17th July.

We will be rewarding our children for their work from 1pm onwards and would love families to come and see celebrate their achievements with us.

From 1.30pm, we would love members of the wider community to join us for refreshments and a raffle with all proceeds going towards providing even more opportunities for our children.

That morning, we will hold our sports morning on the field opposite school - feel free to come and cheer our children, staff and families on!

Well, that’s a wrap on swimming for this year! Our children have done an amazing job and some have overcome some significant barriers to feel comfortable in the water!

So, after weeks of asking every time we passed McDonalds in the minibus, we treated them to a McFlurry.
