We’re a small, family run post 16 academy on a 30-acre site in South Shropshire. No classrooms, no corridors, no bells. Just horses, open countryside and a team who genuinely care. Horses have always played a big part in our history.

From war horses, to working horses, to the horses who are now helping people in a completely different way.

Our horses help young people every single day.

They become friends.
They help people feel safe.
They help regulate emotions, build confidence and learn to trust again.

Their job might look a little different these days, but their impact is huge!

We honestly couldn’t do what we do without them. 🐴❤️

Shropshire Adventures Academy is an approved Equine Assisted Services Partnership CiC Centre, delivering trauma‑informed wellbeing sessions led by our equine assisted learning and wellbeing practitioners. We love our jobs. And we love working with horses and seeing the impact they have first hand.

A session like this looks simple from the outside. A lads day out. A bit of adventure and a fair few laughs.

But underneath it, something much bigger was happening.

Side‑by‑side chats.
Real conversations about what it actually feels like to be a man in 2026. The pressure to stay strong, the ways we try to manage our emotions, the anger, the respect, the expectations society puts on men.

No judgement. No lectures.
Just honest talk in a space where they felt comfortable enough to open up.

Because when young men feel safe, they speak.
When they speak, they understand themselves.
And when they understand themselves, they grow.
