Maybe you're not actually scared of failing. Maybe you're scared of people watching you try.
There's a massive difference.
Especially when you've spent years being the woman who knows exactly what she's doing.
The expert who is ever so capable and in control.
The one people come to for answers.
So, starting again asks something completely different of you.
It asks you to be a total beginner.
To say the thing before you've perfected how it sounds.
To create something that might not work.
To walk into a room where nobody knows your credentials.
To let people who knew the old version of you watch while you become the next one.
F**k, that's vulnerable.
I've felt it SO much myself over the last year..
Leaving an established job.
Writing a book.
Evolving this business.
Creating something new without any guarantee it would work.
There have been plenty of moments where disappearing back into what I already knew how to do would've felt much easier.
But reinvention requires a willingness to be seen in the middle.
Before the success story.
Before hindsight makes everything look inevitable.
Before you have the evidence that this version of you is going to be okay.
Maybe that's the bit we need to talk about more.
Not the fear of failure.
The courage it takes to let yourself be witnessed trying.
