You’ve all worked incredibly hard and should be really proud of yourselves already.

Remember:
✔️ Read carefully
✔️ Take your time
✔️ Trust yourself
✔️ Don’t panic if something looks unfamiliar

The most important thing is to try your best — and then go home and relax afterwards 😊

Limited tutoring availability from May

I have a small number of after-school tutoring places becoming available from the week beginning 11th May, following the Year 6 SATs period.

I offer support with:

📚 KS2 Maths and English
✏️ Year 4/5 11+ preparation
🧠 Confidence, problem-solving and exam technique
📖 SATs/transition support into secondary school

These sessions are suitable for children who would benefit from structured, consistent support in a calm 1:1 setting.

A mistake I see quite often with KS2 pupils is rushing straight into answering a question without really thinking about what it’s asking.

Slowing down at the start — reading carefully, spotting key information, and planning a method — can make a big difference.

It’s something I work on regularly in sessions, especially with Year 3–6 pupils preparing for SATs and 11+.

I often find that once pupils get into this habit, their confidence improves quite quickly.

I’ll be opening a small number of spaces from May.

One thing I often get asked is when to start preparing for the 11+.

In most cases, starting in Year 4 or early Year 5 works really well — it gives enough time to build skills gradually without it feeling rushed or pressured.

A big focus early on isn’t just content, but helping pupils become comfortable with unfamiliar questions and developing strong problem-solving habits.

I’ll be opening a small number of 11+ and KS2 spaces from May.

One thing I often notice when working with KS2 pupils is that confidence plays a huge part in how they approach their work.

Two children can have similar ability, but the one who feels more confident is much more willing to have a go, take risks and keep going when things get tricky.

Building that confidence is a big focus in my sessions, alongside the academic side.

A lot of Year 5 pupils I work with can do the maths — but struggle when questions are presented in unfamiliar ways.

A big focus in my sessions is building problem-solving confidence so children don’t panic when things look different.

I often find that once confidence improves, progress follows quickly.

I’ll be opening a small number of 11+ and KS2 spaces from May.
