In 2026, businesses can’t afford vague development. A skill framework helps you move from:

“we want people to improve”

to

“here’s what to improve, how to practise it, and how we’ll measure progress.”

If your current framework feels too generic (or too complicated to use), Switch Direction can help you build one that fits your people and your goals.

Read the full blog and see why this matters now more than ever.

Excel Tip

If your spreadsheet has 12 different spellings of the same status - you don’t have a data problem. You have a consistency problem. 😤

Use Data Validation to add a dropdown list.

1. Select the cells you want to control
2. Go to Data → Data Validation
3. Under Allow, choose List
4. Type your options (or reference a range)
5. Click OK

Cleaner data in, cleaner reporting out.

At Switch Direction, we help teams reduce daily admin by tightening the small habits.

PowerPoint Tip

Do you keep fixing fonts, logos, and spacing slide-by-slide? That’s why decks take forever. 😩

Use Slide Master once, and your whole presentation stays consistent.

Go to View → Slide Master
Set your fonts, colours, logo placement, and layouts
Close Master View
Build slides using those layouts

It’s the difference between “quick update” and “half a day lost.”

At Switch Direction, we teach the tools that make presentations faster and better.

If you’ve ever thought “we’ve trained them… so why isn’t it showing up at work?” you’re not alone.

Skills don’t stick because someone completed a module. They stick when people know what to practise, get feedback, and repeat it in real situations. That’s what a skill framework supports.

We explain why skill frameworks matter in 2026 (and what businesses should focus on next).

If you’re constantly scrolling to find “that one message”… you’re not alone. 😅

Two quick fixes in Teams: Pin and Save.

Pin a chat: Right-click the chat → Pin (it stays at the top)

Save a message: Hover the message → More options (…) → Save
Then find saved messages via your profile menu.

Less hunting, more doing.

At Switch Direction, we help teams build digital habits that cut friction every day.

A skill framework shouldn’t be something your team “has”. It should be something your team uses.

If it’s working, you’ll see it show up in everyday moments:

✅ clearer feedback
✅ better role expectations
✅ more targeted development
✅ stronger progression conversations

We break down why skill frameworks matter in 2026 and what makes the difference between a framework that gathers dust and one that changes performance.

Here’s why it matters (and how to make it stick).
