Sizewell C Community Study by the University of Suffolk

We’re happy to announce the publication of the Sizewell C Community Study – Public Report

This short report brings together what local residents, families, young people, and local organisations told us during the first stage of the study, carried out between summer 2024 and spring 2025. It reflects early experiences of the project, people’s hopes and concerns about the future, and what matters most to the community as construction progresses.

The findings are based on surveys and focus groups held in Leiston and surrounding areas. While most people reported only limited direct impacts so far, many shared views about future pressures on services, the environment, transport, and housing, alongside hopes for positive long-term benefits such as opportunities for young people, stronger local services, and support for community life.

We would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who took part in the surveys, focus groups, and conversations. Your time, openness, and willingness to share your views made this study possible.

Looking ahead, we are exploring plans to return next year to continue listening and tracking how community experiences change over time. This next phase would build on the same independent approach used in the baseline study, with the aim of hearing from a broader range of residents and keeping community voices at the centre as the project moves forward.
