"After a hot Summer, a well-earned break beckons for our students.

Our students continue to be outstanding. Whether it be taking part in the government social media consultation, meeting the UK's Children's Commissioner or working with the Council on projects for the future of Ipswich, they are taking every opportunity they can.

The next academic year will see the Common Room extension and new Café 6 opening. It is an exciting time to join us. Have a great Summer!"

Northgate Sixth Form Law, Media and Politics students were chosen to be the only Post 16 provider in the UK to take part in the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology consultation on social media use for under 16s. Thank you to Volunteering Matters and The movement for involving us. The BBC were there to listen to our students’ opinions.

These young people shared their mixed views on the prospect of a social media ban for under-16s.

🎉 Huge congratulations to our Northgate Sixth Form Young Enterprise team on qualifying for the Regional Finals!

On 13th May, the team, Sprout & About, will represent Northgate in Hertfordshire, competing against schools from across the East of England. 👏

Their business, is focused on raising awareness of the harmful effects of excessive screen time on young people, while encouraging screen-free play, outdoor activity, and meaningful connections with nature 🌱

This is an incredible achievement and a true reflection of the team’s hard work, creativity, and dedication. We are so proud and wish them the very best for the finals! 💚
