A huge well done to all the pupils who received a Values Award last week!

We celebrated lots of wonderful examples of Responsibility and Trust, with a little Courage and Perseverance thrown in too!

It was fantastic to hear how our pupils are putting our school values into action every day - taking responsibility, showing that they can be trusted, having the courage to try new things and persevering when things get tricky.

We are incredibly proud of all our award recipients. Keep shining and showing those values! ✨

Join Jem for a guided walk around the village and discover some of the history, stories and details you might normally walk straight past.

We’ll set off from St Mary’s Church and explore Tattingstone on foot – a lovely opportunity to see the village from a different perspective and learn a little more about the place we call home.
Join us afterwards for hot drinks and refreshments in the church.

Exploring Ancient Egypt!

Our Key Stage 2 pupils have been getting creative with clay as they made their very own Ancient Egyptian cartouches!

They carefully shaped and decorated their clay, using their knowledge of Ancient Egyptian writing and symbols to create their own designs.

A fantastic way to bring our history learning to life - and we think the finished cartouches look amazing! ✨

Discover Tattingstone’s wartime stories this Remembrance Weekend.
Join us at St Mary’s Church for Tattingstone at War, a special village history exhibition exploring the experiences of local people and the part our community played during wartime.

Come along, browse the exhibition and discover some of the stories behind the names, places and memories that form part of Tattingstone’s history.

After months of fundraising, on 17th July we were finally able to unveil our very special remembrance bench for Mrs Tweedy.

Mrs Tweedy was a faithful and passionate Foundation Governor, who championed our school for many years. She cared deeply about our pupils, our staff and our whole school community, before she sadly passed away suddenly in September 2025. We still miss her greatly.

The remembrance bench now gives us a special place to sit peacefully, take a few moments and recall the many fond memories we have of her. It is also a place where we can continue to feel the strength and encouragement that Mrs Tweedy always gave us.

For us, the bench has become a special place for spiritual reflection - a reminder that ‘we can do all things through Him who strengthens us.’

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Friends of Tattingstone for purchasing and installing the bench and to everyone who helped raise the money to make this special tribute possible.

Thank you too, to everyone who joined us for the unveiling ceremony and shared their memories of Mrs Tweedy, including her family, whose presence made the occasion particularly special.

She may no longer be with us, but her love for our school and the strength she gave to so many will continue to live on. ✨

We can hardly believe that we are already a month into the new school year! We hope our Year 6 pupils of 2026 have all settled happily into their new high schools and are enjoying this exciting new chapter.

As we look back on our Leavers’ Service in July, we remember the special moments when we said farewell to them and celebrated all they had achieved during their time with us.

We also took the opportunity to say a very special thank you to our Foundation Governor, Jane Connell-Smith, who retired from her post after many years of faithful service to our school. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for our pupils, families and school community.

Although she has retired from her role, she will always be very welcome at Tattingstone School and we look forward to seeing her whenever she would like to visit.

We miss our Year 6 pupils, but from the small wonders they were when they first joined us, we are so proud to have watched them grow in confidence, character and independence.

We sent them out into the world as true shining lights, ready to take on new challenges, make a difference and let their light shine wherever they go.

We are incredibly proud of you, and you will always be part of the Tattingstone family!

Well done to our newly appointed Junior Road Safety Officers who are already making a difference!

They have completed their first activity of the year by demonstrating safe road crossing techniques whilst being filmed and having photographs taken for a presentation to share with younger pupils during our Road Safety Day on 16th October.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our JRSOs to take on a leadership role, share important safety messages and help younger pupils learn how to keep themselves safe.

A brilliant first activity - well done JRSOs! ✨
