During our autumn adventure, we explored the forest and discovered lots of seasonal treasures. Along the way, we spotted squirrels, birds, ducks, pigeons, blackbirds and magpies and enjoyed watching them in their natural environment. We collected chestnuts and acorns, carefully examining the different textures and shapes we found. During our walk, we even discovered dinosaur footprints, which sparked lots of excitement, conversation and imaginative play. We also created our own tree pictures by gathering a variety of leaves and sticking them onto tree templates. Using sticks collected from the ground, we compared and measured their lengths, developing early mathematical skills and an understanding of size. At the playground, great determination was shown when tackling the large climbing frame. Despite finding it challenging at times, there was a refusal to give up until the climb was completed independently. The sense of pride and achievement was clear after reaching the top. We also enjoyed playing on the swings and slides, helping to develop physical skills, balance and coordination. The outing provided many opportunities for exploration, creativity, problem-solving, resilience and appreciation of the natural world.
