September 2026 Sabum Forum 🥋 👊❤️

It was fantastic to meet up with fellow Sabums and continue learning from GM Thompson, IX Degree. We worked on patterns, kicking drills, set sparring and fundamental movement, developing both our technique and understanding.

Training continues tomorrow with the rest of the team at the National Seminars, followed by the National Black Belt Examination, where two of our members will step onto the mats.

Proud of everyone taking part and wish them the very best as they demonstrate their dedication, perseverance and knowledge.

Not getting something right first time can be an important part of learning.

In our Dragon Warriors classes for ages 7-9, children regularly encounter new movements, techniques and activities that take practice to develop.

Working through these small challenges teaches them that they don't have to get everything right straight away. 💪

They can listen, practise, try again and see their improvement over time.

That experience can help children become more comfortable approaching new challenges instead of immediately giving up.

Some children naturally take a little longer to feel comfortable trying something new, and that's completely fine. 😊

Our Junior ITF programme for ages 10-12 gives students opportunities to learn, practise and work towards achievable goals in a supportive environment.

As they develop their skills and recognise their own progress, confidence can begin to grow alongside them.

They don't need to arrive feeling confident.

They just need the opportunity to start.
